Put down 33.00 on the special ediiton today. This will be the first 360 game that I buy the special edition.

Oh and Scorch, Im in the same boat as you. It will be a cool week of Bioshock for me :D

i believe 20hrs is consider long for a fps... it is not a true rpg but have rpg elements...upgrades.

rpgs are usually rated to be 40-50+hrs long but fps are around 10-15hrs... so 20hrs is long and don't for get to play through it twice so more like 40hrs.

Is condemned really that good of a game?!? i couldn't even get into the demo so i never picked it up and though it had burry graphic and low framerate... was the story that good or just about a bunch of crazy people trying to kill you?

Yes it is that good, the story is fine, it's the atmosphere that makes the game.

EDIT - Sorry a bit OT there, to pull it back I've had Bioshock pre-ordered from Lion Games for a while and it looks like a good choice.
 
Once i get BioShock, me and my other friend are going to pull and all nighter playing BioShock. This game will take me a while to complete b/c they said on average it would be 15-20 hours of gameplay. i just wish it didnt come out 2 weeks before school starts :(
 
Dropped $60 on a pre-order for this tonight.

I've tried not to read any reviews or watch too many videos of the game. I saw enough to get me excited about it's release but not enough to ruin the game.
 
higher than I expected. looking great :D gonna get it for PC. My main concern was that the game only seemed to have 3 enemy types. Splicers/sentry robots/big daddys
 
I think that hardcore gamers like us that really want to get everything out of it. ie: maxing out every weapon, doing all sidequests, etc. this will be a 30-35 hour game easy.

Oooh I'm definitely interested in those gamerpics. This is my most anticipated game of the year. Loved the theme so much that I finally broke down and bought it. That was my first theme/gamerpic purchase ever on the Marketplace since I had previously vowed not to pay for them. Can't wait for the game and pre-ordered the LE.

Hopefully you'll come up with a good contest.
 
If I could make $70 appear... I would get it, looks like I'll have to wait for this one. I wonder what the "consequences" that were mentioned will be.
 
No contest for the gamerpics yet...I tried to see if CheapyD wanted to do a contest on CAGCast but he hasn't replied yet. I'll let you guys know.

Heads up tonight:
This is a friendly reminder that the BioShock launch trailer will premiere tonight on Spike TV. It will premiere during the 9pm hour, during the show The Kill Point. Plus, right after the premiere, Geoff Keighley will have a surprise announcement. Geoff tells me that all the Bioshock goodness will hit around 9:45pm ET (and then at 9:45p PT for west coasters.)

Expect the HD version to appear on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace shortly thereafter.

There is a 50+ page thread on the official forums that thinks the surprise is a demo. ;). I'd think its not going to be that cool though, probably along the lines of fleshed out Downloadables or what have you-- or that right now you can get a bioshock picture pack for free or something.

Either way, little over a week now until we can play the full game :)

Edit: Actually now that I'm thinking about it-- I wouldn't be surprised that there is a PS3 announcement.
 
PS3 announcement would just detract potential buyers of the 360 and PC versions. It's either going to be a demo or downloadable content or something.

You're right-- I did a little digging since I've got nothing to do today-- and from what I've read, it does SEEM VERY LIKELY that there is a demo being released. I followed some links around, and it looks like TXB has the best thread about it.

Someone posted the entirety of the trailer we are to see tonight on youtube--the videos have since been removed but those who have seen it state that the last bit after the trailer says: Download the Demo now!

A demo would be kick ass, it could prevent me from selling my copy on ebay (Im getting one shipped to me from Yourfree360games).

Same here. I need to watch what I spend these days since this fall is going to be so expensive. I hope they post a demo (and that my 360 arrives from Microsoft soon).
 
Since a joint on one of my fingers is whacked out of alignment and prevents me from using a controller adequately, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a demo. Crap like that always happens during times like this heh.

Don't let that stop you! After I had surgery on the orbital bone in my eye I played Oblivion with a sore, swelled up eye the day of launch.

Thats what I am afraid about. I have enough referrals to get me all the games I want for this fall (besides Halo, since I'm going to buy that one), but I dont want to run out of offers I requested Madden 08 also, so I might sell this, and keep madden, since I will only need 1 game to last about a month, and then its Halo time!
