Black Friday XBox 360 Console Help

Brad13186

CAGiversary!
I am 100% purchasing a 360 console on black friday. Questions:

1. Who do you think has the best deal?
2. Besides the obvious, are there any differences in the 4gb and 250gb consoles?
3. Can anyone send me a link for DIY hard drive upgrade for the 4gb console? I know I have seen it on the forums around here about how you can turn a 4gb into a bigger HD yourself (not to mention considerably cheaper).

I suggest buying the 4GB Kinect bundle + 50$ gift card from Walmart for 199.99. It's what I am getting and I am upgrading from an old phat Xbox with no HDMI.

Minus the hard drive space, there are 0 differences between the 4GB and 250GB model. If you ask me, I think people are stupid for buying the 250GB over the 4gig when you can easily just take an old hard drive, unscrew it and insert it into a Slim with no penalties.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0NhKgRC2tg There's a nice tutorial on how to DIY the old hard drive into a slim.

Fantastic advice and link. Thanks a bunch. Huge help. I do not really think I would use a Kinect but knowing how to swap drives, makes me think I will have to go with that bundle anyway. I was thinking about the "gears 3" 4gb bundle but I have gears 3 anyway.

I figure for the price, I might as well get the Kinect bundle. The new dashboard update will have Kinect integration, and I will buy some Kinect games I think I'll enjoy such as Dance Central 2.

One difference is that the 4GB has a matte finish and the 250GB is all nice and shiny.

I've also heard that the 4GB disk tray isn't built as good as the 250GB and scratches up disks alot.

I was concidering buying the Kinect bundle because of the the $50 gift card, but then decided I didn't want to take the risk. And I also decided that I didn't want to have to take apart a hard drive and have a ghetto xbox.

So I'll be getting the nice and shiny 250GB xbox bundle.

I have a hard time believing Microsoft would take the time to manufacture a different disk tray for the 4GB model, but whatever I guess.
