BlazBlue: Continuum Shift $39.99 and 36.99+FS

Very awesome, and thanks Op! Been curious on a release date, and the $40 new pricetag is very enticing. I figure i'll try preordering in-store, so that it's painless as possible to shift the money towards an LE if one is bundled separately. (In the off event it doesn't follow Calamity Trigger's LE example)
is this an "enhanced version" of the same game like ssf4? or entirely different?
There's around 3 more characters and I think they balanced everything and changed all the character's moves.
is this an "enhanced version" of the same game like ssf4? or entirely different?
Its an enhanced version which includes:

at least 2 new charactures
10 new Song Tracks
New stages
New moves for the original cast

So all in all this is going to be nothing short of AMAZING!!!
thanks for the info. i'll consider getting rid of my original copy now and picking the new version up
I'll help you get rid of it if you want :)
thanks for the info. i'll consider getting rid of my original copy now and picking the new version up
I'd rather hang onto my original and pick the enhanced up

kinda like I did for Persona 3, gonna own three versions of that game come July with the PSP version

They also added new modes, like the strategy-esque mode that they put on the PSP version. I'm really looking forward to this, and I'm glad to hear it won't be a full-price game. As soon as Amazon lists this, I'm preordering. :)

Was going to pick up the original in the gameday sale possibly, looks like I'll just wait for this now since it is coming out soon.

Man, I'm happy to see this isn't a $60 dollar game, I hope Canada gets a similar price, too!

Btw, I'm aware of all the new moves, characters and modes, etc. But isn't there a new story to complete? That was the best thing in the first one, crazy deep storyline for a fighting game, a new story would just be...awesome.

Been planning to get Calamity Trigger but now I think I'll just wait for this. And $40 can't beat that! Thanks

Same here. I was already getting ready to go to my game stop early to go pick it up. Guess now I can wait

Loved BlazBlue, probably my favorite fighting game this generation. I loved Guilty Gear too so that explains it. Happy to hear it's $40, but wondering if they're going to have an LE like last time.

Oh yes. Can't wait to see more characters with unlimited versions. It was always fun finding out what gold characters did in GGXX.

I believe it's more than just 3 new characters. The story picks up after the events of Blazblue: Calamity Trigger. There's the new Legion strategy mode and some game mechanics have changed (i.e., the requirements to pull-off an Astral Heat, Barrier Burst has changed, and so has Guard Libra). New songs and stages added, some new moves, some moves have been removed. Here are some pictures

I love how there is all this love for this enhanced version, but no flaming and complaints like Super Street Fighter IV received.

Got something against Street Fighter do we?

I'm really surprised at how well Blazblue is received on CAG, to be honest. I haven't seen any "SSFIV ISH GONNA PWN DISH GAEM LAWLZ," which is what I expected to be one of the first posts. And for those wondering, the list of changes are:

New modes: Tutorial, Challenge, and Legion.
Story mode that continues where Calamity Trigger left off.
At least three new characters: (Tsubaki, Hazama, and Mu-12) though they'll probably balance it out with one more character- I'm hoping for Jubei. :3
New special attacks and Distortion Drives, plus minor AND major changes to existing moves.
Game mechanics have changed slightly (Guard Libra has changed dramatically, Astral Finishes can be done on what could be the winner's final round, and Barrier Bursting no longer puts you into a Danger status, and you can bank one.)
New intro song, themes, and stages.
Twice as many anime cutscenes.
Netcode is being... Improved? :O I didn't think it could get any better.
DLC is in the making.
And...
Tao's face/new character? :O http://news.dengeki.com/elem/000/000/239/239658/img.html
Thank god, I was hoping not pay $60 for the same game with new features, but $40 i'll bite at. Blazblue FTW!
Same. I thought they might price it at 60 and If they did I was going to wait on it. Since its 40 I'm going to buy it day 1.

I'm actually a little upset about this, because they can totally make this a DLC or an update. I don't know why they didn't balance the original BlazBlue. I think the fans of this series are just more loyal.

More niche titles get nothing but praise on gaming forums, while big name titles will always be bashed by someone -- that's why.

SSF4 is rehashed content, Blazblue:CS is a charity.

I like Street Fighter. If I was locked in a room with Street Fighter IV, i'd be okay as long as I had my fight stick. I probably need to do that in order complete those trials.

But as a BlazBlue fan, each character is really unique unlike Street Fighter. Where there is a basic set of commands that works on a many characters there, with BlazBlue you have to really learn everything from scratch.

Blazblue has a true lobby system, Super Street Fighter IV ist just now catching-up.

The story mode actually had some thought put into in BlazBlue, its not just a simple cut scene or two like in Street Fighter.

Just a few things...but its overall a better fighting experience. Of course i'm a Guilty Gear fan as well.

Well, what do you expect when you're pushing 30 characters? I mean, unless you're gonna go MK style special moves or something it's a little hard to make 25+ ALL uniquely different.
Same. I thought they might price it at 60 and If they did I was going to wait on it. Since its 40 I'm going to buy it day 1.
I think they only would've went $60 if SSFIV went $60.

I would prefer the same commands or slight variations for each character. Then I wouldn't have to spend all my time looking up the command list in the menu and pausing the game.
I think they only would've went $60 if SSFIV went $60.
Probably. Glad they both are $40.

I believe Lamba-11 was mentioned as a new character on Wikipedia, but I
haven't seen that confirmed anywhere else.

With all the new stages, characters, moves, music, a strategy mode, on top of a brand new story campaign for ALL of the characters (which isn't just one cut scene at the beginning of a series of matches, and one cut scene at the very end), ON TOP of all the patches to balance characters, change game mechanics, etc., we'd probably be paying almost $40 and a few gigs in DLC anyways.
So any of you guys think buying the first one gameday sale is a good idea?
If you've never played BB:CT, it'd be good for practice when CS comes out. Also, if you want to give the story a try, why not.

Yeah I almost forgot! Kinda like that weird Guilty Gear Overture which was awesome!

This is an ABSOLUTE MUST BUY!!!!!!!

No one said anything negative about capcom or ssfIV in this thread.
It's not any different than SSFIV except that people think they're cool for bashing Capcom and for praising Arksys.
keep on topic instead.

Sweet, thanks OP! I'm definitely picking up a copy. LOVE the first one. I'll probably get the PS3 version and keep my 360 copy of the first one.

I can't wait to finally play as Hazama. In the first one I was disappointed that he wasn't a playable character.

Dear Capcom fanboys,

GTFO

The new content is probably worth $20, so just wait. Get it from Amazon with free shipping and no tax, and the upgrade will be even less than $20.
