Tried doing a search but couldn't find anything on this so I figured I'd post:

AKSYS is selling a limited edition Mad Catz Blazblue Tournament Edition stick (only 1500 made, I'm assuming they mean 1500 per each system), they were set to release a month or so from now but it seems the order came in early so they're shipping now. At $200 they're not necessarily a deal I suppose, but with the limited quantities I figured it might not last so long. Free shipping, although I guess they don't ship internationally. Here's the link:
The fact that I'm seriously considering this makes me question my sanity :)
You and me both... I know I can't afford it and I know I won't use it enough to justify it, but it looks pretty cool. I think the people who buy one will really enjoy it, but one of them won't be me.

...Here's hoping for a much cheaper Noel fight pad instead. :bouncy:

eh second thought the artwork does look nice, however if those with previous TE sticks, you can just swap out the buttons and your choice of templates put together from the Shoryuken.com members

Who buys a $200 fight stick, takes it out of the box, and decides to take a picture of it on their sidewalk? I could never do that. :p

On a more relevant topic, I love Blazblue, and it looks pretty nice, but I'd never pay $200 for a controller of ANY sort- even a Steel Batallion-esque one.

Wow, 200 is WAAAY too much. I felt ripped for buying the Tekken 6+Wireless Stick bundle, though i only paid like 110$ for it (Due to an employee fail), cant imagine paying 200 for just a stick.

Seems like a dumb move on ArkSys's end, they act like it was some sort of replacement for the game getting delayed for a whole season.....

Bet they will end up for less than 150 soon

While I'd agree $200 is too much for a stick with different art, the SFIV/SSFIV TEs retail for $150 and are entirely worth that much.
The Tekken 6 wireless stick you got is of lower quality, and is absolutely not worth it. But if you want a high quality stick $150 for a TE isn't a terrible deal, especially when Amazon routinely has them for $130 or less.

That being said, yeah, the $50 premium for Blazblue artwork seems a little crazy. But some people love limited edition sticks.
And hell, I"m thinking of getting a HRAP Premium myself, which will probably be even more expensive when it becomes available.

The question with these sticks is: Will the limited run sell out and possibly make them legit collector's items, or will they languish on the site for a while? I'm betting BB fans step up and they won't be around long.
Wow it looks like it's just the SF4 TE stick with BlazBlue artwork.
As far as I can tell that's exactly what it is. It's another mad catz TE stick, outside of the art I don't think there's any difference between this and the Street Fighter/Marvel vs. Capcom sticks. It's also 50 bucks more! As I said it's not really a deal, but it seems to be rather limited and you know how that goes.

That would make sense if it was bundled with Continuum Shift or something.. but it's not. Cool that they made them, but waaaay too expensive (considering SF4 branded ones have been in the $100 range multiple times already).
Wow it looks like it's just the SF4 TE stick with BlazBlue artwork. Is there something I'm missing? 200 is insane.
Nope. The reason it's so much more is because the BlazBlue sticks are of a more limited run than the SFIV TE sticks. I'll show my love for Aksys by picking up BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, but count me out on the stick.

LOL @ them not even including the game for $200... that's messed up... $240 total for game+controller... you could buy 4 full price games for that

reminds me of the gun metal MGS ps3, lol... paying a high premium for a different color version of an existing product

No different then putting it on a table, as long as you don't clean the sidewalk with it shouldn't be a problem.

Anyway too much money, if I were going to spend 200 on a stick right now it would be towards the new HRAP or hell two TE's off Craigslist and just swap out the art with a Blazblue theme on both.

fuck the 360 version looks way worse than the PS3 one.

The only TE I'd consider picking up is a MvC2 one, if I could find it for under $100 (ideally, around $80).

As was pointed out in the Agarest thread, this is not only not a deal, but it's a straight up rip-off. This is the original version of the TE stick, not the newer version used for the Super SFIV model. This is far less limited than the 500 run Comic-Con sticks or the limited Femme Fatale sticks which sold for $150. On top of all that, many places including Amazon sell the TE sticks for $130 and they have dropped to as low as $100 several times recently. This is a blatant cash grab and I hope all CAGs show some solidarity here and refuse to fall for this rip-off. 3,000 of these sticks is not a limited run and Aksys should be rewarding its fans by at least maintaining the $150 price point, not increasing it by $50 and not even including a copy of the game or some kind of discount toward the game.

Ok, normally I hate when people ask this question, but in this case I think it's more than justified . . .

How is this a deal?

I mean, I get why collectors might be interested and all, but a deal, it definitely isn't. Not by a long shot. Post again when it's 50% off. ;)

Personally, I think that if it really (as they claim) costs Aksys so much more to produce a stick (which I'm not fully buying, but whatever, it's their right to charge what they want for it, and my right to not purchase it), then they should have just skipped out on the stick and instead just sold an artwork panel that you could put onto a stick you already have. But, I suppose the insane collectors will buy it anyway, thus legitimizing this kind of gouging.

Hate to pile on, BUT.... $200 is ridiculous. I have two SF4 TEs and they're awesome and worth every penny I spent on them. But I paid $90 for one and $100 for the other. $200 for the exact same thing with a different face plate is highway robbery. I guess Aksys knows its users well enough that it thinks it can get the $200... but it certainly won't be from me and I imagine it won't be from a lot of CAGs.

For those of you asking who would put the fight stick on the sidewalk, these are the official Aksys Shop photos :) So I guess they have no problem with doing that, though I thought the same thing when I saw that pic lol.

I might have bought one if the 360 version had a black base but keeping the 360 button colors. Also the sticker is not as cool as the art book or comic book cover so I guess I will pass this up (unless it hits $100).

I'll probably be waiting for a MvC 3 TE stick to suit my fancy.

200 bucks and their not even the new TE sticks. It's last years models.

How to get a blazblue stick and save 100 bucks?

1. Buy a standard TE stick
2. Buy plexiglass top from artshobbys
3. Three go to kinkos print out said art or have arts hobbys do it for you.
4. Fix it up.
5. Spend the 80 bucks you just saved on The new blazblue that's coming out later this year.

I've seen people with the first TE, the round 2 version, AND the MvC2 version. But then they wont buy the Super SF4 arcade sticks that just came out and look amazing. :\

EDIT: Oh yeah, you can even paint that white sides black. That's if you buy the 360 version but want the black sides like the Ps3 version.

sorry long rant but i had to get it out of my system.

TE " S " $139 worth it
Hori VLX $159 ( you can even get them in a BlazBlue theme) worth it

TE BlazBlue $200 fuck you Aksys. Way to try and take advantage of your fans.

Enufs8d- New PCB, new design, new lock for buttons.

Someone who really wants it and was about to spend 130 on a SF4 S-version? Blazblue is my fave game!

Edit: I will add that I have modded the hell outta my SF4 stick and am perfectly capable of doing the same on a cheaper build. I am a little upset that Aksys charged 200 but if they ever do sell out at that price I'll be happy I have my ideal TE (The PS3 looks nice to me).

Gotta agree that $200 is a rip-off. BlazBlue enthusiasts would be much better off buying a regular TE stick and printing up some nice custom artwork instead.

Only way I could see getting one of these is if your MarkMan and have to own every fighting stick on the planet.

OR your in it for the resell, but I'm not sure how much resell you'll get out of it considering the cheaper options for TE sticks are still there and just as good.

I know some early TE sticks had some issues and were few and far between. The first week I had my TE stick one of the buttons didn't work but with a system reset almost a year plus later I never had a issue again. I'm sure the newer TEs never have a single problem.

same idea, but add change buttons, and sell it back to a fan for more money.

does the LE have voice commands, and I'm hoping for some AI that can play the game for me. 200 dollars, those are some of the things that I'd like to see the stick do.

looks nice, but for an extra 50, you could get a normal TE (SSFIV), replace the art and even swap out the button tops so it would look better than their stick

i guess since the demand is lower they have to charge more for it

I can be a bit sympathetic to the higher price since these aren't as numerous as the other sticks that are released, but it's still hard to overcome that sticker shock. If this was released a year ago when everyone was still clamoring for the SFIV sticks then they may have had more pull but there's been like 3 other releases of this type of stick since then (SSIV ver. 2/MvC2/Super SSIV), I have to wonder if there's still a market for them. I ended up taking the plunge, I guess we'll see if I'm crying or laughing a few months from now.

This... this just makes no sense. I love my TE sticks (LOVE), but $200 for this is insane. When I saw the price, I assumed this was a totally different stick... but $200 for something you could have easily gotten for $80 in the past year with new artwork? No thanks. I would've been all over a BlazBlue stick, too.

This shit is just baffling. Makes my brain hurt.

Can't imagine I would pay $200 for this when I felt ripped off by my $135 TE stick I got from the Capcom store.

No thank you.
My MvC2 stick works the same, looks better, and cost me a hell of a lot less at gamestop. There's a problem when you release an item, cut out the middleman, which traditionally keeps costs low, and you're considered to be ripping people off worse than gamestop... gamestop, the retailer that's reputation is built off of the perception of gouging people.

i thought there only making 1,500 for both system. the stick is for the hardcore fan that want to support the blazblue franchise it probably sell out since this game had some good sales.

totally agree......it the same te they did for sf4 and ssf4.....i love blazblu but i'll just use my sf4 te.....after all...it is the same stick.

$200 is way to much for an "artwork premium." I love BlazBlue, but I think my round 1 TE will work just as well with Continuum Shift as it did for Calamity Trigger.

Honestly, this is the best looking stick I've seen thanks to the BBCS new character designs over the sexy red/blue background. The black, blue, and white base colors complement real well...sorry Microsoft, your circus stick didn't appeal to me at all. Overall, I would love to have one of the stick, especially since it's numbered too. But the price...it's just too expensive. I have to agree with what other people suggested that it should come with the game, then I'd totally buy it.
sorry Microsoft, your circus stick didn't appeal to me at all.
I assume you mean the MvC2 stick?

That had nothing to do with M$ lol

Actually Microsoft now requires third party controllers to have the multicolored buttons to match their standard controllers which is why this stick and the 360 SSF IV TE sticks have the colored buttons. The new Hori sticks coming out (along with the previous ones) will have the same color buttons.

But yeah, I have to agree this stick is not worth $200. Just add your own BlazBlue artwork to any of the other cheaper TE or Hori sticks, save yourself some money and call it a day.

No they don't. Those sticks have multicolored buttons as a design choice, nothing more.

Um no

BB TE=3000 made
Femme Fatale = 1000 made ( price $159.99 )
SD Comic Con = 500 made ( 179.99 )

So yeah there are more of the " limited " BlazBlue sticks made than the past two limited sticks and these cost more. Don't offer any sympathy to Aksys they are clearly try to screw over their fan base and those that are less informed. And for all those saying this is for only the die hard BB fans( cause anyone in the FGT will tell you how much I hate that game ), well why the hell didn't you buy any of the Hori BB sticks, you know their have only been three now, and hell new one is a VLX.
