EDIT: Buy.com is apparently shipping out the regular edition of the game despite the listing clearly indicating that this is the Limited Edition--do NOT buy from them!

Buy.com has a listing on Amazon where they list the Limited Edition of BlazBlue for the PS3 as in stock for $49.99 shipped. Buy.com itself says the item is out of stock, but you never know... figure somebody might be interested as this is $20+ under what new copies are selling for on Ebay.

PM me if you're interested as I'm looking to get rid of my PS3 LE. I have the original packaging but it's been opened, only to rip the soundtrack onto my PC.
Oh cra-

Wish I knew that before I pulled the trigger.
this is why i didnt buy SF4 nor BB. minor sequel with extra characters=inevitable, making the original copy obsolete in less than a year.

Not true, the new versions may not be as good and everybody sticks with the old one.

Eh, I try not to.

End up buying all of them regardless. With this, the only fighting game on PS3 I haven't bought is Tekken 6. :bomb:

Dammit, now I'll have to hold off on Calamity Trigger for the next one. I've been itching to buy this, but keep missing out on deals.

It would bug me to get it now at current retail prices when the newer game is coming up. I won't likely get both as a casual fighter fan unless there is a nice price drop/sale.

If the number of updates they released to Guilty Gear XX (3 or 4 of them?) has taught us anything, this next version of BB will not be the last, either. :bomb:
Hazama is also confirmed and possible 15th character maybe introduced soon as well. The console version probably won't be out until summer and I'd say it's still worth getting it even if you plan on getting Continuum Shift.
They've already announced the three new characters. Hazama, Tsubaki, and they're getting rid of u-13 and replacing her with Lambda-11 (11, right?)

Where's my Battle Fantasia sequel?

Just got my shipping confirm from Buy.com, even though my amazon order clearly states Limited Edition they sent me the standard edition. Lame...

Exact same thing here. Immediately sent them an email for verification
after receiving the shipping confirmation that contradicted what I ordered.
We'll see how it goes. Buy has traditionally underperformed
Amazon, so I have my doubts, as I did when I placed it.

That is freaking lame--I'll change the OP immediately.

fuck buy.com, they're always sending out the wrong shit. I bought a GPS from them last year. Was a "new" item, when I got my GPS I found out it was a china model with north american maps loaded on it. Magellan wouldnt support these "new" GPS units.

Two outsourced customer service reps later and I am quite
convinced that we are getting the finger on this one.
They suggested I refuse it and then I made the desperate
wishful attempt at suggesting that maybe it could
actually be the Limited? They are rather certain it will
be the standard, since that is what is linked to their site.

The second rep actually inferred that it was Amazon's fault,
which is clearly not the case. More likely that someone
thought they could crush the lowest price offered
at the expense of being thorough.

I can't believe I let them get me again.

Would getting in touch with Amazon help out at all in this situation? I know they were not the seller, but I'm sure false pretense is something they would take quite seriously.

so what's the recourse in this matter?
Print RMA and return package and wait eternity for credit?
Do we have to pay shipping out of our own pocket to do a return?

Refuse delivery is by far your best option if you can do it. I'd also keep harassing customer service in the hopes of getting some kind of compensation--this is a truly sloppy mistake on their part.

I would assume that their role would be to monitor/
make sure that the return is handled properly and
without any additional monetary expense incurred by the buyer.
They are just hosting the transaction, so a proper replacement
is most likely not an option. Buy made no mention of
correcting the item and immediately suggested refusing package.

They are supposed to call me back within 24-48, though I have
rarely experienced them following through on this.

They really have to stop presenting themselves as being
in league with Amazon. Few are, regardless of how
determined they are to attempt to ape their business/site model.

Take away their "unique" ebay relationship, and their penetration would
have to eventually dissipate in the overall scheme.
They are definitely delivering on the daily deals where
they had better perform, as ebay has been giving them the
mega-push for close to two years, but otherwise
they just do not measure up. I can only blame myself
for believing otherwise, yet again.

Well Buy.com did come through with a few MW2 prestige editions for me when they were selling them on ebay for $148.99 shipped so I can;t fault them too much I guess. I figured this was a shot in the dark but since it was through Amazon I knew I would be super protected.

Update: received word from Buy.com, yada wrong upc yada, contacting amazon to remove listing, please refuse package,

Most importantly, $50 credit for any future purchase that "ships from and sold by Buy.com" on Amazon, I just have to reference my order.

Did you email them or phone them?

I shot 2 emails and have yet to receive any acknowledgements whatsoever.

Hmmmm... this is a part of what I received:

"You can either keep the item that you have and we will give
you a $15.00 partial refund or we can have the one you received returned
and issue you a full refund. In the event of a return we will supply you
with a RMA# and UPS prepaid shipping label.
"

And I still see the Limited offered from Buy.com for 57.99, despite this:

"Looking at this item, unfortunately the UPC number we provided Amazon
did not match what they had listed. Our UPC was for item BlazBlue:
Calamity Trigger (Standard Edition) but was linked to Amazon's listing
for BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Limited Edition... This is definitely not
the way we want to run our Marketplace store.

We have requested our merchandising department to update the description for this item as soon as possible.
In the meantime we will be removing this item from our Amazon listing...Unfortunately we will not be able to offer you the
BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Limited Edition at this time.

Sent email via Amazon no contact seller page and no response.
Sent two email messages to buy.com's help page and no response.
Ugh...why did I bother with this. I shoulda known something was up when buy.com was invovled.

Go into your Amazon account and pull up the actual order.
You can contact Buy directly from there via the CONTACT SELLER link.
I do give them credit for a very prompt response, especially for a high volume mover.

I had also called them. Not sure if leaving numbers here
is a no-no, but google pulls it right up with a bunch of eights and zeros.
Support is outsourced, with no real impact. Number is toll-free.
The call ended with them claiming they will call me back.
Email response time gets top marks.

If anyone's interested in a LE copy of Blazblue I have one I'd gladly sell for $50 plus whatever shipping amounts to. It's in new condition. The Blu-Ray extra's disc is still shinkwrapped in it's case, the disc has left the case once, the cardboard case is in as good condition as if you were to buy it new. I thought this would be the game to get me back into fighting games, it wasn't, now I'd like to recoup some of my investment. PM me if you're interested.

Yeah, I hate buy.com. This is just another example of the crap they pull all the time. This SAME EXACT thing happened to me twice before, and I've sworn to never buy from them again.

Still no response whatsoever. I just filed a claim. Let Amazon deal with the damn mess as buy.com refuses to respond to any emails.

Actually everyone should just file the claim. Looks like amazon.com reimburses your payment right away when you file a claim.
