BlazBlue TE fightstick PS3 $101.86(Price back to 129.99, dead)

That's a deal breaker for me. Most of the games I buy now are PS2 games which at this point both my x360 and ps3 games combined don't equal to the ps2 games I have. Anyone else?

According to the review, the hori stick that's 30 on amazon is ps2 bc compatible.
Yup. I saw that deal but the shipping/tax is over my price point. Not that I don't think it isn't worth it, but I don't play fighting games enough to make that type of investment.

Yeah, on my stick the ball top can be rotated. Kinda like a knob that can be continuously turned. I was really hoping to not have to deal with opening the thing but I guess I have to.

I'm not really sure what type of gate I'd prefer. The only other joystick I've bought was a MAS about 10 years ago. The cabinet was nice, but I hated the joystick/buttons and returned it after a day. If there were a choice, I'd probably go with a smooth 360 since that is what I've used before. I was a bit worried since I've heard some people felt the square gate to be uncomfortable, but surprisingly it wasn't a big deal at all to me.
My ball top does the same thing & round 2 stick I ordered does it too very weird. Does it void you're warranty to tighten it?

Edit: Someone told me The Ball isn't turning, the whole ball + shaft is it's normal.

Was there some reliability issue with the original SF4 TE stick? Which of 360 or PS3 versions were affected? Any fix?

I got both PS3 and 360 sticks but I don't play them enough to notice any problem. If there were any issues with them, I better get them fixed now rather than later.

Keep in mind, I've only owned the stick for a week so take this for what it's worth.

The stick's shaft is supposed to be rotatable, which, by extension, will make the ball-top rotatable. If the ball-top feels too loose, you can try unscrewing the top, then tightening the bottom screw of the joystick.

When I opened mine, the screw was already tight but I tried to tighten it a bit more. I wasn't able to twist the screw noticeably, but it did seem to help ever-so-slightly. It's possible that there was never any issue with my joystick, and that it is very likely that there is none with yours.

Surprisingly, the hardest thing for me to get comfortable with was the short length of the stick and the rotatable ball-top. I thought I would have a problem with the square-gate, but that turned out to be a non-issue. The stick would be perfect if it were a bit longer and the ball-top was a matte surface for extra grip. I think the problem is exacerbated for me because I wash my hands often and need to apply lotion (oil) to keep them from drying out.

Opening the joystick form the top might technically void your warranty, but I'm not sure they will be that strict for something this simple (you don't need to break the warranty sticker). That said, you should contact Madcatz if you want to be sure.

Technically yes, opening the stick (from top or bottom) will void your warranty but I highly doubt they'll give you a hard time since I've never heard of anyone's stick being voided b/c of that on SRK. Now, if you open it & spilled water on the PCB then yeah, that's your bad LOL!

I prefer an octo-gate but that's just me. If I didn't already have a TE round 2 (it's for sale along w/a Hori V3-SA) then I might've jumped on this b/c it's a good deal.
The stick has gone up to $99.02 as of Fri. Not much of an increase, but still.

Nucking Futs - I would love one of those VLX's...but like Antipodes I'm too much of a CAG at heart to pay $300 on a stick. Yet.

If I ever end up with some crazy 50% off code for Amazon, Gamestop or Hori USA I'm all over that though...
It was up to 103.97 this morning and went back down to 99.03 so I jumped on it had a $50 credit so for 49 a TE stick was well worth it

Just pick up a Sanwa Bat top for your TE. They are longer, bat toppier, and matte finish
