Has anybody heard of the Bleemcast 177+, which is a disc that supposedly allows you to play over 177 PS1 games on the Dreamcast?

I had the Metal gear Solid Bleemcast which worked awesome, but I had never heard anything about this 177+ Bleamcast until recently.

Anybody know anything about it?

I have never heard of such a thing, but that sounds excellent - I have the Tekken, Metal Gear, and Gran Turismo bleemcasts - and yes, they work really nicely. I'd be interested in hearing more about this too if in fact such a beast does exist!

Sounds like the original plan for Bleemcast before Sony sent the 'cease and desist' letters that forced them to.. well... cease and desist.

Its a modified version of the original, never legally released ver. of bleemcast. goes under different names.

there is a site where you can buy it for very cheap but they are only backups whch work without any modchip.

cd-helper.com

the problem is that you have to be a member to buy stuff from their site but it is free to sign up.
when your're a member just go to the buy/sell video games section and check the dreamcast games that people have for sale.

It's technically not warez since it was sold at EB. I remember a MGS and GT2 disc. I have Bleem on PC but it's not supported by WinXP.

Its not official, I think someone either modified one version, or it was a leaked beta version that was incomplete. Anyway, it only works for some games, and doesn't work terribly well for most. I would not pay for such a thing since you'd just be paying someone that downloaded and burned it, just download it yourself if you're curious.

There are many free and legal emulators for Dreamcast on http://www.dcemulation.com . Not that I know specifically if this variation of bleemcast is illegal or not. But I do own the Tekken 3 and MGS versions, they're great. Had they not been tied up in frivilous lawsuits from Sony, they could have done some nice things.

To clarify, the official bleemcast releases are not illegal or "warez" (if you buy them), but the modified or beta version thats out there that'll let you play "177" games may be, since its not an official release.

I have tried to make things from this site but they never work. It also takes alot of time because you have to download various different programs, and you need a cd burner. The cd-helper site are just backups of a cd emulators. It is not pirated because it never came out and a fan made it. This will only end up costing a person no more than 5.00 shipped fpr the cd and they will save alot of time by not downloading 5 different programs and taking various trials on cd-burning.

Its still gay that someone would charge money for burning you a cd of something you can both download for free. Its really not that hard to burn images.

i had a version of bleemcast im not sure if it was the same thing but it was horrible. a lot of games wouldn't play right off, those who did had huge problems. i remember i tried tekken 3 and the graphics were so warped u couldnt tell what was going on. some games didnt have sound, others would lock at cetain points or do weird things. i think i did get it to work perfectly with one game though, it was marvel vs capcom or street fighter vs marvel or one of those vs. fighter games i cant remember which. even then the lack of a l2 + r2 button on the dc made it kind of frustrating, i guess it wasnt really perfect but it worked in concept.

the people only charge you 1.00 for the cd and like 3.00 shipping. The extra dollar is for a stamp and money order but If you have pay pal it would be alot cheaper.

If you ask me I'd rather spend 5.00 on a cd then download up to 10 mb of files. Also don't forget that if you are going to play this on the dreamcast you need to have the right burning program alchohol 120 which is about 10 mb more.

I am not sure if this works any good because I haven't bought it yet but from what I heard, only a handfull of games work great while the rest have very poor sound, crash, and run slow.

If I were you I would buy a modded xbox. They are now able to play sega cd games, and playstation right from the cd And I heard that they run great. A guy on that site specializes in modded xboxes. You can customize your own box or you can buy one from him

Yeah, thats the beta version then, it was called Bleemcast Blue. It was 30% complete and was a version before they even demoed it to anyone. Most games won't work.

Better off using the PC or Xbox PS1 emulator, it runs at full speed for most games.

Yes this is correct, there were like 4 beta versions of Bleemcast. The beta versions were the ones they wanted to work with many games, but they turned out to be too hard to make. So the single pack games came out. Those were sold at EB and are 100% legal.

The beta was hacked like in 02 or 03 and works with some games. Some better then others. I did get a copy back when it was making the rounds and wasn't able to burn it correctly. But from what I hear your not missing much.
