Blind dates???

I was just wondering how many of you CAG's have gone on any blind dates? I met this girl and haven't seen what she looks like yet, and I'm going to meet her face to face in a couple weeks. Does anyone have any funny stories from any blind dates that they went on?
 
I had this one several years ago. She turned out to be really cute. Unfortunately she was a 27 year old Disney fangirl. Which was just was well, since she didn't care for my well-to-do upbringing, and it ultimately freed me up to meet my future wife a few months later.

They call them 'blind' dates for a reason. No person with proper vision would accpet a date from these people. Did a couple of times myself. Both went bad, but the 1st date at least I had something good to look at. The 2nd date was a total fiasco. My buddy that night was Jack Daniels. Man I was trashed that night. :(

Either way, chances are the person you're meeting is also in a 'forced' situation (pressure from friends to do it) so they most likely won't be as receptive. Just my experiance.

My experiences with Blind dates are bad. They were set up by friends who dont have a clue what I look for in a woman.

My roommate met someone in a want ad once, and she ended up marrying him.

All I can say go on your date and make the best of it. Don't put too much stock in it.

yeah man dont get your hopes up because if your friends told you she has a good personality first and than say something sketchy about her looks than your fucked..
My friend told me that when he set me up with this nasty fat asian girl..i was and still scarred for life!

I met my fiance online as pathetic as that sounds. That's sorta like a blind date since I didn't know what he looked like... btw we didn't start dating until a month after we met in person. But I've heard good and bad blind date stories. Just be optomistic.
 
I've been on a few, none have been too terrible. The key is to make sure you set up the first meeting to be a short one -that way it can go longer, but you have an escape plan (and no I'm not talking about the restaurant or bar's bathroom window). Years ago I had a bright idea to meet a girl at the zoo -I met her at the front gate and instantly knew this was going nowhere. Spent the next couple hours trying to quickly get us through the zoo.

But that works both ways. Many of you have been on blind dates so you go into this category as well.
 
I've never been on one and hopefully I never will. Meet my boyfriend in high school and we have been dating ever since (5 years this year).
