Blizzard is serious about bringing Diablo 3 to consoles.

Nice. I don't want a new computer anytime soon and I hated missing out on Diablo 2 at launch because my then-computer was already old.

The genre has been done pretty well on consoles already. Torchlight was great on XBLA.

Of course they do. It's more money. I've been kinda worried about Blizzard since WoW. It made them greedy I think, that or Activision merger did it. The whole Starcraft 2 thing still kinda doesn't sit right with me. Sure SC2 was awesome but Heart of The Swarm the more I read about it the more it sounds like "an expansion" rather then SC2 part 2 which is how they sold it in the beginning didn't they? I wanted 3 full fleshed out stories, not Jim Raynor's story and then the other 2 tacked no. We'll see.
 
Good news if true and they get it right. I'd like to play it as well, but don't do PC gaming anymore. Never did it much, but did play Diablo 1 and some other games back in college.
 
While I usually go PC-only for a WRPG, this has actually got my interest up for Diablo 3. Local multiplayer was fucking awesome in Diablo 1 back in the day, and the controls translate better - not necessarily perfectly, but better - than those of a party-based RPG.
 
Throw me in the excited pile as well. I played Diablo on my PSP (PS1 game ripped to CFW...FTW...ugh) and it did map very well. I love dungeon crawlers and this is the king.

I'd be willing to bet we won't see it for 6months to a year till after Diablo 3 comes out. The link says they're putting together a console team starting now.

That and Diablo 3 isn't an MMO. FFXI isn't the only MMO on console either.
