Hey all,

Just thought I'd let you know that I was at my local Blockbuster last night (in Orlando, Florida) and they're currently running a 3 for $20 used DVD deal on all DVDs $14.99 or more. This means all the movies that were previously 2 for $20 are now 3 for $20. I haven't confirmed this with another Blockbuster but I hope to do that later this evening.

The better question is when AREN'T they doing this sale. I don't think i've ever seen blockbusters here not doing this one or 4 for $20 on $9.99 and lower

4 for 20= Usual Deal
2 for 20(DVDs 14.99)= Usual
3 for 20 (DVDs 14.99= Very Good deal, Havent seen this one yet, thanks OP

Kind of off topic:
Is Superbad for sale as PVD yet? I've been waiting for it to become available before I jump on one of these deals but I haven't been checking lately either.

It's been out at my local Blockbuster for a week or so at least last time I checked.
Can anyone confirm if 3 for $20 is going on for the usual 2 for $20 titles?

Need to pick up:

Shoot Em Up
1408
Chuck and Larry
It depends on your store, but yes, my store has had Chuck and Larry and 1408 for sale for quite some time. And Shoot Em Up has been for sale, but it usually goes pretty quickly.

my store has every new older than a week for sale and part of this deal. ive seen live free or die hard for $6 and superbad is $10 and so on.

For what it's worth I can confirm another store in Orlando.
It's 3 for $20, which is a special sale considering these are the 4 for $20 movies ($14.99 and under).
I grabbed:
Superbad
POTC: Worlds End
The Lookout

But it was at the S. Alafaya BB which has the smallest selection of PVDs I've ever seen, and they were all recent releases.

There is a BB near my house which has 10 times more because it takes in lots of trades, so there is a good chance of finding something old and random.

But isn't 3 for $20 always the usual or did ythey get greedier? Hollywood Video (if they are still around) have it for 3 for $20 as usual.

The usual (franchise stores excluded) is:
4 for $20 on $9.99 and less titles
2 for $20 on $14.99 and less titles
They changed the 2 for $20 to 3 for $20 for 2 weeks only (ends the 18th).

As for Hollywood, if memory serves me correct (come on memory... don't fail me now!), they usually have 3 for $25, not 3 for $20.

I can confirm this, I went one of my Blockbusters on my lunch break and got War, The Kingdom, and Who's Your Caddy for $20. Some other new previously viewed $14.99 were The Simpsons, Balls of Fury, Shoot'em Up, Stardust, Bourne Ultimatum, Oceans 13, Halloween (single disc), Nanny Diaries, Death proof, Planet Terror, Superbad, Hostel II, 28 Weeks Later, alot more can't remember...great deal for newer movies..

Thanks a lot for posting this! I had two gifts cards to use so I went there tonight and was surprised to see such a big selection.

I got the following -
Halloween: Unrated Directors Cut, Resident Evil: Extinction and Skin Walkers (all $14.99) for $20
The Prestige, The Number 23, Eragon, The Cave (all $9.99) for $20
and picked up The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning and Cold Creek Manor for $3.99 each.

Got:

Halloween (Rob Zombie)
Hostel 2
1408
Bad Reputation
Buried Alive
The Lookout

Might have to go back for some more.

Thought I'd mention that the last time they had this sale (christmas time I think?), many of the $15 titles dropped to 4 for $20 ($9.99 and under) after it ended. I was kicking myself for picking up Casino Royale, Stranger Than Fiction (which I believe has subsequently dropped to $4 :( ), Science of Sleep, etc. Of course you never know if they will drop this time around, or which ones. It's usually titles more than a month or two old Previously Viewed wise, especially with large copy depth that aren't moving. However, kids titles seem to stay high priced.

For anoyone that can hold out till the end, I'll try to get a hold of the repricing on the Saturday before, so you can all see which to wait on and which to bite.

I know I just posted yesterday, but there was a drop today. The following titles went from $15 to $10, so are part of 4 for $20 instead of 3 (better deal if you were wanting these):
Redline
Perfect Stranger
Wild Hogs
Fracture
The Ex
Vacancy

I didn't watch most of these and the ones I did I didn't like, but I thought I'd let you all know about the drop.

Hey Grilled are there any other price drops that you are aware of? The kid I talked to when I went said the deal ends next weekend but I forget exactly which day he said.
Hey Grilled are there any other price drops that you are aware of? I work both days.

Also, for anyone wanting American Gangster, here's a trick:
Ask if you can pre-sell the American Gangster rental as PRP in a 3 for $20 bundle. I believe they want to do this (we had to pay near full retail for every copy so the more we can sell used the more profit they make). You'll want to probably talk to management of some sort, and even then, not sure if they will understand. It works like this:

Presell AG as used, and two other $15 used DVD's; it will ring up as 3 for $20. They just need to plug the part number of AG into a used label number (44-store code-part #-2). You'll probably have to pay for the movies now and then wait to get all 3 when AG hits used. (I think it actually asks for new or used during the presale, and I believe you can take home the two you are getting right then, and then pick up AG later). I know at our last meeting we were discussing doing this when it goes back to 2 for $20, it will work for 3 though so it's worth a shot. If they don't understand just say someone you know got it at another store :p

I always saw the sales, but walked buy em the other day and saw Play makers (Season 1, well the only season ) sitting there for 9.99, so said screw it and picked up that, smoking aces, Sarah Silverman jesus is magic and pursuit of happiness

Thanks for the heads up. I never go to BB anymore, as it's been forever since they've had a really good deal like this. Was able to get Spiderman 3, POTC3, and Ice Age. Was hoping to get Shrek 3, but they didn't have it. Still, I am very happy with the deal.
