Blockbuster (GameRush) is voiding some ValueCards!!!
Having multiple accounts and multiple giftcards mean nothing. Speaking from an ex manager, all giftcards are unique. Even if they see you flipping numerous times they know everyone of your giftcards, and how much each one has on it. All it takes is 3-4 minutes to go through your account history.

Now what Blockbuster is doing by removing credit on giftcards is horriable. They may put your account on hold, or even permanatley ban you, but taking away what is essentialy money because they can't word there promotions correctly or train empoloyee's is BS.

How many of you when you trade in games see the SAME employee every time? Does he tell you about flipping? Of course not. Why? Because that term is generally used for EMPLOYEES not customers. Infact many managers were fired because they traded in 'too many games' or 'too many movies'. They found it odd that some people actual own more then twenty games, and when they do outragous deals like $8 minimum for DVDs and $5 more for each game, that people may infact TRADE there crap in for those awesome values. Be aware as both a customer and an employee.

However I digress as I will be going in tomorrow to trade in 3 crappy games that I paid a little more then $10 for and picking up RE4 for free.

Oh, on a sidenote. If you have any friends that do the same thing, as the recent deal (3 games and get any used for $10), both of you should swap expensive games and trade that it. It would look way less suspicous then trading in a game you just bought days before.

Anyone need any more info? Im willing to let you know just about as much as Im allowed to say. Some things I am not at liberty to say for certain reasons I won't go into.
I use my girlfriend's account and the employee is in on it. There is no connection to my account and my girlfriends. I also go to 6 different GR's.

Wait, so people who have been bragging for months about this deal are getting owned?

OWNED! Hahaha! Suckers! That's what you get for trying to work the system!

Of course, if I had a GR, i'd probably be doing the same thing and crying about it right now.
Yeah well at least with Hastings they didn't just delete your store credit.
They might as well have. Hastings puts theirs on a giftcard though, I think Blockbuster stores it in the system. Hastings does it ghetto style.
Yes but Hastings stopped their trade in deal where as BB hasn't fixed it they simply deleted accounts of people they decided where breaking their rules. I really think they could have handled it a lot better.
Hastings hasn't stopped their trade in deal.
Wait I thought you said they were cracking down on your ass?

Whoever lost store credit should probably contact their local better business bureau and advise them of the situation.

As "Mulligan" said: because you are physically losing something of value for credit (ie the games you originally traded in) what blockbuster doing may be criminal but more likely to result in civil liability (conversion). Regardless, it seems that a majority of people that were involved in this practice of flipping were under the age of 18 and hence the contracts that gamerush tacks onto your trade in (for signature or otherwise) are voidable by the underage minor as videogames are a luxury not a necessity (this matters).

Anyway...if you have a record of the games you traded in, take that to gamerush and demand your games back if your credit has been wiped out (if you are under 18) well technically you can void the contract and keep the store credit if you are under 18. Minors cannot enter into a contract and have it upheld unless it is for a necessity (food, shelter).

Anyway, suing blockbuster wouldn't be very cost effective unless you take them to small claims court and represent yourself.

Regardless, you should at the very least talk to the Better Business Bureau, and possibly your counties' DA.

And I didn't give you this information.

I'm going tell ABA on you!

Probelm is, iuf they are under 18, they still had there parents come in and say it was OK. They signed a form saying "Billy can trade in his games". So they may be under 18 doing it, but have permission. However, I would ask to speak to the DL at blockbuster. They may infact give you the store credit back and ban you from any future trades (which is where your friends or girlfriends come in to play)

Forgive my ignorance, but what's ABA?

All they did was raise the minimum trade-in value for 4 for 1s.. before, if it got $2 or more in store credit, it would work.. now I think it has to get $5 or more. The only thing it did was kill all the cheap games people sent..

BB gives you a choice. You can put in on the account, or on a gift/value card. If you put it on the account though, you can only use it at that particular BB that you traded games/dvds into. I always put it on a giftcard because I have ~10 BB's to shop at.

runs to phone to check gift cards. Crap you cant check the amounts online or by phone. Found it interesting it says something about accepting the card you can NOT JOIN ANY CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS

So now that the trade 3 get any used for $10 is gone, how do you continue increasing credit? I'm not scared of GR. I want to rack up $2000 in credit. I want free game systems and games. I want I want I want. Please help a noob who obviously missed the boat. :(

There is NO WAY to take credit off of a gift card...the account maybe, but not the giftcard.

We had a problem with some people when we had that DVD trade in value of $8, people from a little mom and pops video store would trade in hundreds and hundreds of dvds (at different stores) and get our games....just to sell them in their store.

Well, once all of their accounts were frozen we couldnt stop them from coming in and using their credit.

You can not take credit from a giftcard, it's bullshit.

And that ladies and gentleman, is why by 2006, gamerush will suck just like most retailers.

I just tried about an hour or so ago. The three cards I used worked at two stores. The only thing either store said was the GR manager at one asked where I was getting so many RE:CVX copies heh. Grabbed a GC and Tales of Symphonia. Why doesn't GR carry the bundle GCs? I wanted the Metroid one :(

You can't take credit from a giftcard? Hah. I've seen it happen with my own eyes. I know that a lot of people on here are worried about their credit getting deleted, but corporate is only doing this to the most serious flippers. The only guy I've witnessed it happening to came in every day and did the trade 3, get 1 for $10 deal multiple times (because when he was working, my store manager would let the guy do whatever he wanted), bought a few cheap games with the buy 2 get 1 free, and moved on to the next closest Gamerush.

Even if they are only doing this to the most hardcore flippers it's still messed up. GR did the credit deals and they should change things going forward if they want, but not go back and try to rewrite completed deals.

Reality's Fringe]The hell is Flipping?
If I'm not mistaken said:
I do that all the time but when I was informed that I was not allowed to do that anymore and I had to wait 7 days or something, i stopped

they better not do anything with mine. Last time I went to gamerush they actually told me that you couldn't trade in more than 2 of the same game each visit, and you were not allowed to trade in the game you just bought until 7-10 days later or something

I still dont see how they can that. They should have been checking. It says on the account whats been traded and the date of each transaction, doesn't it?
(because when he was working, my store manager would let the guy do whatever he wanted)
Maybe it's just me, but it seems like if the higher-ups have a problem with what was going on, it's the manager that should take the heat, not the people who he'd allowed to trade as much as they wanted.
Voiding store credit? That's pretty evil, you think they would simply fix their trade-in problems rather than screw people like that.
That is their way of fixing it....

I saw someone over at www.gamefaqs.com telling how, check it out.

I just used my value card last night w/out any problems. But, I was never a serious flipper. I did flip a few times, but I never took the $30 game back to where I got it, and I ususally waited about 5 days to take it back. Mostly cause I'm lazy.
