BLOD PS4

My PS4 got the Blue Light of Death last week. I bought it used on AWD about a year a half ago so even if such a purchase was eligible for a manufacture's warranty, it's past the point of return by now. I've seen suggested ways to get it up and running so I was thinking about doing so to trade in.

My question is should I take the hit and trade it in to GS for $200 credit or BB $180 and use said credit toward a new console?

$200/$180 for a console with an MSRP of $350, that you've used for 18 months of and doesn't work properly isn't much of a hit.

What alternative do you have?

Well I've seen a DIY video of tacking a couple washers on internally to fix some kind of soldering issue but I'm not sure if that's just a temporary fix. Maybe I've just gotten lucky with consoles in the past, I've still got a functioning fat 360, I'm just not used to having to re-buy.
