The upstairs dvd player is messing up it's old so time to get new one. I'm thinking of getting blu ray player. I never gotten one before so not sure which one is good quality.
What players do you have and have they worked well for you?
PS3's are energy hogs. You'd pay less in electricity using a stand-alone player.
Which player to recommend depends on what you're gonna use it for. If you are going to use it to stream stuff and use slideshows and all the extra Smart stuff, I believe Samsungs and LG's are pretty consistently good.
If you just want to watch discs, pretty much any standard $80-$90 player will work. And most come with WiFi built in so it can connect to download updates and stuff.
Actually, doing a quick search, Walmart has this LG player for $30, though it looks like it does not include WiFi so you will need to connect it to an Ethernet cable or a router to download updates.
EDIT: This Samsung player is $55 and includes built-in WiFi.
