There's an english-only demo that's been up on the Japanese Marketplace for weeks

I thought the demo has been up. I got it off the japanese marketplace(its entirely in english) but thought i saw it was finally up in the US marketplace. hmmm, if not then i do know its a demo on the new OXM disc for those interested.

As for blue dragon, ill wait for a few days as well. I dont think it would finish downloading anytime soon. Thanks for the heads up tho scorch!

thank bill gates for low power downloading. Thanks for the heads up scorch!

I'm gonna download Blue Dragon while I sleep...

In the mean time, those HD Trailers look amazing...

I need to get that Eternal Sonata Demo

OMG so many good things im downloading blue dragon yeah. By the way is golden axe or sonic worth the 400 points each?

Eternal Sonata Demo is coming...

If you highlight eternal sonata under all games on the marketplace, it says...

"Download the demo today and explore the path to Tenuto, Tenuto Village...."

See, this is why I like having an Elite ;). Got the NCAA demo, will be getting all the trailers and, of course, Blue Dragon (still have nearly 80GB free for all this - haven't deleted anything yet). But damn, it took 15-20 minutes just to download the 50MB or so Viva Pinata Party Animals trailer. I have Blue Dragon queued up after some more trailers and I hope I can play it around 4am or so (it being 1:30 now). But I somehow doubt it - well, I ought to have it by tomorrow night anyway (if it doesn't cancel on me like it did to blueweltall).

Edit - Oooh, it is going much faster now. I got 4 trailers downloaded and 38% through Blue Dragon at 1:53 AM Pacific. If it keeps up that pace I will actually be able to play it tonight - sweet!

Well.... After playing through one of the sections I think the avg score of 7-8/10 seems to be pretty appropriate. The game is visually great, however some people may not like the simple and kiddie art direction. The voice acting is expectedly horrible, though not as bad as 99 nights. The game play feels a bit outdated after FFXII's new system, but I guess some people like that. The worst part was it seems every boss battle ended up being getting your ass pounded and then doing the "limit break" which is kind of like a summon. At least they let you skip the summon sequence, otherwise i'd go frickin nuts.....

It's probably a game i'd get at around $39, but not the full price. I'm putting more hope into lost odyssey.

was it taken down?

the demo is still in my download queue, but not going anywhere and I can't find it on the marketplace.

I had it at 97% and just HAD to play Sonic like an idiot so I went and adjusted my download queue... after doing so when Blue Dragon resumed it started back at 1% WTF! Idiot. Needless to say after playing Sonic I then went to bed.

Just what I need... I have an excel project to do tonight. Now I just have to get it finished... and sweet RPG lovin is mine!

I feel soooooooooo dizzy playing this game. WTF is going on.!!!!! I only like the battle music so far but the rest is kindna ummm not impress. I'll try to finish the demo before the fanboys get upset with me ^__^

Played it last night at about 12:30 PST. I'm not much of a slow RPG fan, I like the real time ones like a fable or a jade empire or oblivion. This just didn't do it for me. Although the giant blue dragons behind the heros really smashed the enemy well, cool look. I assume you can have different gollums/creatures under your control? It certainly captured the FF very well in the opinion of myself, the uninitiated.
Even If I liked the battle system, I don't think I could get over the DBZ styled heros. Not my bag. This demo confirms to me that I won't be picking this up, therefore it proved useful.

Think of it more as Chrono Trigger styled heroes. Has a more positive vibe to it.

Agreed, exept dbz, never played that.

Once you get past the DBZ look it plays much like FF. Limit breaks, turn based with the attack order in the top center. You can charge attacks which will move your order around if you want to charge. The dragons have different classes which you can change. The initiating battles from the dungeon can be done with the right trigger which you can select more than one enemy. Some enemies will fight each other. The voices are kinda annoying. They should have started you off in a earlier area cause there was alot of shit going on to jump right into. I played both dungeons once each for the entire hour apiece. I will def be putting some hours in the full game once Im done with Bioshock.
this was made for 12 year olds. no sale.
The graphics were, maybe.

But the game is just as fun, if not better, than any FF.

Great, another game with forced widescreen and therefore, tiny text. I couldn't even tell you what the characters names are by looking on the screen, it's so small.

ya i would agree, It is the kind of game i will rent from gamefly and play. I also found (might just be in the demo tho) that there was no music playing during the fights which i didn't like.

the graphics were, completely, and so was the dialog.

Really not feeling it. Normally I can get past art style, but I just can't see past the DBZ nuances that I despise so much. Maybe it's just because I hate these demos that randomly stick you in the middle of someplace without a nice guided tour.

This confirms that it will be a rental at most for me.

Wow, this is the only upcoming 360 game (besides Katamari) that I was anticipating enough to drop a preorder on. I haven't played the demo yet, but I hope I like it more than you guys. I definitely like the turn-based battles more than that real-time RPG crap. (While I liked Morrowind, the real-time stuff holds me back from purchasing Oblivion at full price. And thanks for the tip on Fable, I'll hold off playing that now ;)).

Took me a little to figure out controls , but after I figured out the battle system I really liked the game though & it seems like I will be picking it up when it comes out. Hopefully they will have a pre-order bonus that has that sweet Japanese Blue Dragon faceplate.

The demo was okay but I hate time constraints, it kills all motivation to even play. I had more fun with Eternal Sonata.

I must say I'm a bit disappointed with this demo, don't think I will be purchasing this one right off the bat, may have to give it a rent first.

This was near my most anticipated list but after playing the demo, it has fallen off quite a bit. I was ready to pay full price for it but I think I'll wait till it hits the $30 mark.

The game is decent but it seems pretty generic. The graphics in my opinion are breathtaking and seem as if you are controlling a CGI movie however the music (battle music in particular) leaves a lot to be desired. My main beef with the game is it doesn't have that "epic" feel that Final Fantasy has.

Since playing an RPG means you have to invest a lot of time into the game, I generally stick to those that are on the grand scale since I don't have time to play every RPG that I come across.
