Anyone know any good deals/sites for ordering board games, or tabletop strategy games (warhammer, warmachine, etc)? I've found some that have good discounts, but I'm skeptical, has anyone used any of them?

http://bouldergames.com/ -- great dealer, good people, a business you should support

http://boardsandbits.com/ -- more good people to buy from

http://www.funagain.com/ -- larger vendor, nice site, a little more expensive than those above, but props for a good site

The best place to go to learn about and research games:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/

Be aware that Mayfair Games practices price fixing, and won't let their games be sold beyond a certain discount, so u can't find but so many deals on their games, and some retailers refuse to carry them for this reason.

Good luck!

I've used all the ones Don mentions here, and I can also recommend:

http://www.thoughthammer.com - Large selection of games, flat rate shipping (free over a certain amount)

Funagain Games tends to stock some things that are hard to find elsewhere and imports as well, if you're into that sort of thing.

It never hurts to check BoardgameGeek either, sometimes you can find good deals in the "marketplace" there. I've been active trading/selling/buying on that site for a long time and I have not once had a bad experience.

If you're looking for the cheapest price on a specific game, you can try http://www.boardgamesearch.com to quickly scan some of the more popular online retailers.

Awesome guys, thanks :)

Specifically, I'm looking for the expansions for Descent (Fantasy Flight Games), and Warmachine stuff.

Kinda sucks that mayfair has price fixing, guess I'll be paying full retail for my cities and knights of catan.

I'm also up for any game suggestions (since I have a thread open, with apparent board game fans in it, no need to make another elsewhere). My collection looks a little something like this..

-Settlers of Catan + 5-6 player expansion
-Carcassone + expansions
-Descent + expansion
-WoW board game + expansion
-Runebound + expansions
-Zombies!
-Munchkin (all of them, with expansions, dice, and blender)
-Frag
-Three Dragon Ante
-Zombie Flux
-Hack! (knights of the dinner table card/board game)
-Order of the Stick adventure game

That's just the start of it, always looking for some more unique fun stuff to branch out to.

I do frequent board game geek a bit, always good info on there. I'll take a look into some of the sites you guys suggested, thanks :)

I saw that on a few sites, trying to find some pics of how the game looks setup. Can you give me a rundown of how it plays?

You bet.

The board is a square modular piece that has L-shaped corners that are placed around it, making a larger square board. This has the effect that the board can be different every game. There are also a variety of game types, from a simple "kill 15 zombies before sundown" to "get the gas and keys and get to the truck" to "defend the manor house" and more. Players represent the heroes and zombies, so there are often fights for who will be which team.

The heroes are the various stereotypical survivors, like the buxom nurse, the sheriff, the football player, etc., and they have to search buildings for weapons and equipment that will help them survive.

The zombies need to swarm the survivors to prevent them from achieving the goal, and are pretty fun to play as.

There's a new expansion out, too (Growing Hunger, which I just got in the mail today), but the base game is more than enough fun on it's own.

Play time is over an hour or so, but faster with a group that's played before. I've never played with a group that didn't finish a game and immediately want to play again.
