Bob's Game - One man game for the DS (need SDK)

Watched some of the youtube demos, and i got to say, it reminds me of 3x3 eye on snes and a lot of other japanese rpgs on the snes back in the day. it would probably be something i would buy, but probably not for a lot. it does run rather smooth, and the animations are sort of unique, but it still reminds me too much of the snes days. But I really do hope he gets some better music, cause it doesnt really do much for me, lol.

But like i said before, I would probably buy if he was trying to sell it into the US market, i dont think it will be too successful, which is why some of the games similar to this one in Japan has not been ported over to the US due to the likely lack of sales numbers.

Got my support, hope he makes it there eventually.

The game may be interesting, but the guys sounds like a nutcase.

Nintendo won't sell me a SDK, so I'm going to sit in my room for 100 days and whine about it. Seriously?

Nonetheless, it is rather interesting how he has put everything together. Although as an application developer myself, I would have some serious concerns about quality control.

So some guy spergs out with the pixel art and expects Nintendo to listen? Meh.

Animation was nice, sound needs work, and I highly doubt that the story is as interesting as it sounds in his head.

But you can't fault the guy for trying, right?

Look at it this way, it can't be much worse than a lot of the turds that get marched out for the DS...

I think the game looks great! I would buy it day one.....

It is definitly better than some trash that the big N releases like Pets or crap like that.

I also would pick it up. It looks like it could be a great game. There are a lot of little things he has done that I have always wanted to see in a game of that nature as well growing up.

His "protest" isn't going to help his chances of getting a dev license.

He would be better off shopping his title with publishers and going a more traditional route. Publishers love to publish games that are nearly completed.

I would buy the game just to support this kind of project, but his recent actions may have insured it will never be released. Furthermore, he should never have announced he used homebrew software to make his game. That almost certainly sunk his chances. Nintendo (nor any 1st party) wants to essentially put a seal of approval on using pirated or otherwise, illegitimate software to develop games for their platforms. If he would have taken a nearly complete game to a publisher and not sought press for the game early on, he probably could have found a distributer, gotten dev support through the publisher, and released his game.

Actually a Japanese publisher used NES emulator and released classic NES games on GBA.
