Boosting WiFi signal?

The building I moved into has free wifi for tenants. The thing is, I can only get a decent (20-60%) signal in the bathroom, which isn't really ideal. Even one step out of the bathroom makes the signal too weak to be useful. Is there a way I can boost the signal on my end, or just have it relayed to another room? (I wouldn't mind running some ethernet cable and making it into a "wired" connection.) TIA

Linksys and other companies make something called a range extender (expander and repeater are also common names). What it does is when you put this device within the range of the original signal from the wireless router, it'll relay the signal to a broader range. The only problem I can see is i'm not sure how your signal quality would be as you are only getting 20-60% strength currently.

If you have access to the router and there are ports open you could always run a cable and then buy your own wireless router and plug it into your room.
