Bought Mass Effect used at Best Buy......

Was a 360 copy, Platinum Hits.

Anyway, I open it up, and it only had one disc. And it wasn't even the 2 disc case with one disc missing, it was a one disc PH case.

Now, does this seem a little messed up to anyone else? It isn't like it comes with a voucher, the PH comes with a physical disc. To me, if someone trades in that game without the second disc they should put it in a generic case....

My though process being, I bought it for 14.99-10% off for GCU used. If I knew I'd be on the hook for the DLC, why not just buy it $20 new?

I know GameStop does this type of stuff too, but at least at GameStop you can see what they are actually giving you, or heck, take it home and return it. BB once you open it your done.



In a separate incident, I also wanted to get ODST at BB used and was scared to do so because of the second multiplayer disc which I wanted. Luckily, it was there.
 
well, thats lame. should have come with a disc. but you could just get both DLC for 6 bucks total.

I had an experience trading in a game at BB a few months back, and turns out I traded in an empty case. So I went to do the right thing (and not screw up my credit potentially), took the disc in the next day and could not get a single person to make sure that the disc would end up with the case. one employee told me to "just keep the game". wonder if someone bought an empty case?

good to know that I shouldn't get any used games there.

Yea, but for $6 more I could have also just bought the game new......

I might go back and see if they'll switch it out for another one and I can try my luck at getting the second disc again.

EDIT: I SHOULD say there are pros in getting used games there compared to GameStop. The cases are always nicer (if they have them). But you have no way of ever knowing what's inside the case......

As much as I hate GameStop, and how they maul their cases with stickers, at least there you know what you are getting before you buy it.

Your 100% sure on that?

If that's the case then I'll just buy them as DLC. An extra $1 isn't bad, and actually better than driving back to BB to make a stink.

EDIT: Looked it up and your right. Thanks for letting me know. Guess it isn't that big a deal.
 
I have the PH version and Bring Down the Sky is the only DLC on the disc. And Pinnacle Station wasn't released until about 6 months after the PH version came out.

EDIT: Don't think you'd be missing much without that one anyway. Bring Down the Sky is a definite though.

You guys don't need to avoid buying used games at Best Buy because of this issue. The games may not always be complete but the discs and cases usually look better than any other retailer.

Target Used game cases are also very nice. Can't say about the manuals tho cause I have avoided buying Used from either retailer as of now. However, local Target has Bayonetta (seemingly complete) used for 14.99.
