Okay, here's the deal, I just went to open up my copy of MAG and lo and behold, the case is damaged. There is a little crack in the upper right hand corner and a piece broke off on the bottom of the box. For some reason, this really bothers me and so I'm going to buy another copy. I'm hoping it doesn't bother someone else though and that's also why I'm offering it for $20 cheaper than retail. I have not even taken the disc out of the box, while it's not 100% proof, you can compare trophies with me and see that it is not in my list (0% trophies would still show up if I had played the game).

the case is broken. they sold you a game with a broken case. theyll let you exchange it even for something as little as a cracked case. if youre that worried about it then just say your copy is freezing. itll work, trust me.

I highly doubt it but I guess there's no harm in calling and finding out.

my copy of god of war collection that i got for christmas had a cracked case. my parents gave me the receipt and i went and got it exchanged no questions asked...but its cool man, you dont have to believe me. i was just trying to help you out...

Yeah, but wasn't it sealed? My game is no longer sealed. Like I said, I'll check it out, but I'm not holdin my breath.

no, i opened it before i saw it was cracked. anyway sorry i intruded on your thread. i guess you really cant help someone who doesnt seem to want help.
 
Haha, what are you talkin about? Why you gettin so emotional? I said I was gonna check it out. I'm not going to get the thread closed simply based on your say so though.

Most places let you exchange an opened/damaged item for same exact item purchased if it's exchanged within the time of a normal exchange on the receipt (Some places won't exchange after a certain length of time).

I agree with everyone else, take it in with receipt tell them it was opened like that and you want to get the same game.

For such occasions, I myself have like 3 empty backup ps3 cases that I got when I did some trade ins at gamestop haha...Because I know how I am about my cases Just when I think I need a backup I take the game, art and booklets out switch case with one I don't care for (Generic, HWV, Blockbuster, etc. cases) and keep my empty good ps3 case when I'm trading in a game.
