BREAKING NEWS! Allen Iverson Traded to Nuggets

I thought Iverson would spend his entire career as a Sixer. I hope this move helps the Sixers though. I am tired of the Philadelphia sports teams drought of a championship. I saw a shirt on the boardwalk at the Jersey shore this summer that had a skeleton holding pennants that had the Sixers, Flyers, Phillies and Eagles on them and the shirt said "Still waiting for a championship for 23 years"
I can't belive the sixers got more then what Iverson is actually worth... I mean yeah he is one of the best players in the game but two first round picks? With two first round picks the nuggest could have prolly gotten Kobe or Maybe even Kevin Garnett
picks are an unknown quantity, no way in hell KG or Kobe could be gotten with 4 first rounders much less two. I think this trade was good for both teams
Even though I haven't read the entire thread nor care about basketball all that much, but Iverson is a douche. I still remember when he was playing in Newport News in high school and he used cause so much shit. There was one time he got into a brawl at a bowling alley that he started and ended up injuring a few people. Funny thing is that after he went straight from high school ball to the NBA, you didn't hear anything else about the trial that resulted from it...
While I don't doubt your story, Iverson did not go straight from High School to the NBA, he was in Georgetown for 2 years.

It's a true story. They used to talk about it all the time here. Plus, I saw it on YouTube once.

hmm, I was just about to post his wiki as that info is in there, but someone vandalized it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Iverson

And that bowling alley incident did happen, but a video tape later revealed that he got out of the fight as quickly as it started and threw no punches or hurt anyone, he just ran away. Or so I thought?
For those saying Iverson had no help, he had Iguodala, Webber, and Kyle Korver. All of them very good players. Iguodala is making the Allstar team next year, Webber is past his time but still puts up ok numbers, and Korver shows to be a good, somewhat consistent 3pt shooter.
Not a one of them close to the quality of melo. Korver is a shooter what else does he bring tot he table? Webber is playing on one leg and a shadow of his former self and Igoudala hasn't progressed much past the solid reserve player who has a handful of dominating nights a season. Here is the sports guy's take on AI which I agree with. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/061213

Could have swore he went from playing high school ball to the NBA. Either way, he did cause trouble when he was in high school.

Of course we have whole Vick brothers from our area, thats another thing for a different thread...

Now, I never said any of them are as good as melo. Carmello is one of the best players in the nba right now. All I meant was they were good roleplayers, not superstars, but not garbage players either.

Look, when they went to he championship game they had the coach of the year, defensice player of the year, sixth man of the year, and the league MVP. And that still wasn't enough to beat Shaq and the lakers. So for people that blame Iverson by saying he can't work with other players or he'll never win a championship just because he is Iverson just don't know what they're talkinhg about. It also matters who they're up against.

There was a game between AI and Georgetown and Marcus Camby and UMASS that was a classic

iverson is a stat stuffer who got lucky in a very weak eastern conference, the year they went to the finals.

He doesn't make his teammates better..in fact, he makes them worse. He might be the only one in the league to do that. Denver is risking their season by gambling on this guy.
