So I can't seem to get my Wii to work properly, it turns on but the WiiMote never syncs with the console for more than a few seconds and when it does I get no little hand and it vibrates uncontrollably, it will also register the WiiMote as having dead batteries. I tried replacing the batteries with ones I bought about 20 minutes ago fresh and sealed, and still says I am using dead batteries, any suggestions?

A faulty Nintendo product? Is this even possible?
Are you saying your Wiimote doesn't work but your console doesn't?

did you take the stickers off the sensor? mine was doing the same thing until I did that.

I wish i knew

Are you using the Wii Remote that came with the system (in the packaging)? That controller is already supposed to be synched to the system so you should really only have to turn on the Wii/Controller, remove the white stickers on the Remote, and enjoy.

....and take the white stickers off the sensor...

I'm having some strage issues with a remote as well, the one that came with the system. It worked fine last night but this morning it is doing the same thing as the OP's. I decided to try the other remote I bought and it is working flawlessly, much like the original one did last night. Tried changing the batteries in the other one and that didn't help at all. Very strange.

did that, still no luck, wow I get madder by the second

Only problem I've had so far is that early on, when we had two remotes on in the channels, one of them would get lost. The button presses still registered, but no hand. Rebooted the system and it was fine, hasn't happened since over an hour-plus of Wii Sports.

I'm assuming you've done the obvious reboot or two?

I'm reading on Gamefaqs that there are problems as well. Something to do with wireless routers and such. I am of no help as I don't have a Wii, but maybe It's something to do with a wireless router in the area to? Conflictions?

Wombat, do you have another controller to try? As I mentioned, my second one works fine. Very odd problem, not sure what to do either--I've rebooted, moved the sensor, changed the batteries, yell obscenities, etc.

I didnt pick a 2nd wiimote yet, I guess i will have to find one now, this is not the accessable fun for all types of gamer that I was expecting, unless the game is get frustrated for 250 bucks

I know this is my 213989213 post in the thread but I'm reading more into this on Gamefaqs (not the most trustworthy site I know) I would say very few people are reporting problems with their Wii, but it seems the majority of the problems are the Nintendo channel, setting up their wii to go online, and defective Wiimotes. It looks like you got a defective wiimote, but be thankfully your console isn't asking for a start up disc! Imagine if it did that you wouldn't have the option to play for a bit. I'm assuming Nintendo is going to have to send you another wiimote, in the mean time your gonna have to grab another wiimote at walmart or something. Same thing happended with a majority of the 360 premiums, alot of the wireless controllers were fubared.

I hope thats all it is, I can deal with that, wont like it but I can deal

This is why I didn't buy one.

Why would I buy a system that I have never tried and the controlers might not work right?

If it's any consolation, you know Nintendo will send ya a new one right away. If you complain enough, you might get some free stuff to go along with it. :)

So you never buy any consoles, right?

Does everything else seem to work? Can you play Gamecube games on it with no problem? Hell, can the Menu be navigated with the GC controller?

EDIT: I find the lack of extra controllers (of all varieties) for this launch somewhat disturbing.

I am trying to take this in stride but the consatnt busy at Nintendo Cust Serv is a bit disjarring and I really wanted to play Zelda today

Sorry about the Wii Wombat. Maybe try to pick up a cheap Wiimote someone today and try that. If it doesn't work, then it's your system. Is the motion sensor bar correctly connected? Try powering down, take out the motion sensor bar, connect again, power up. Try that. ;)
