Brothers in Arms review(s) and General Discussion.

Review Up

I might pick this up since I've been watching Band of Brothers lately. That is a great series. It looks like the commander is supposed to be Winters from the one trailer I saw of the game.

Edit: Nevermind, read the first page of the review and your character is from Fox company, not Easy company.

damn got me all hyped up :(
Winters? shizzle thats my last name Im picking it just because of that :)
Quoted, NO EDIT FOR YOU! :D

I'm super hyped now.. I can't wait to pick it up. Ragdoll physics~!

I don't know what it is, but this game just doesn't excite me. Weird thing is that I love a solid war game. Maybe it has something to do with Fight Night Round 2 and that new Splinter Cell game. Either way, I'll wait until the price hits 20 or less whenever that may be.

I may rent it....the LIVE part sounded kinda lame, but I'll see if I like it.

I have too many games already to play
Fight Night 2, SW:RC, and soon Doom3 and RS:Lockdown

Damnit another great title? Oh well. I think I'll wait for a drop on this. Already got WM, Doom 3, Phantom Dust and Spike Out: Battle Street pre-order for my games till May/June.

Eh, I might get it when I can find it around $20. Very few WWII games appeal to me, and this one definitely doesn't.

Just picked up SW: Republic Commando, mostly because I figured BiA would just be another WW2 FPS with a lot of hype. I might have to pick this up one as well (after I read the reviews of course)

This is one game I didnt really know what to expect from. It seems kind of intereresting after all the good reviews though. I wonder what Gamespot will give it.

OMG.

I played it tonight.

After the opening sequence, I literally had to grab a chair. I proceeded to play it for the next hour and a half at GameCrazy. This rivals Call of Duty on PC. Right from the start, it grabs you and won't let you go. This is a MUST HAVE.

I'm going to spoil the opening sequence.. if you don't mind..

So it starts off as you're laying on the ground. Things are blurry. You can see airplanes flying overhead. You hear the wind blowing through the tree over your head while leaves fall on you. A man stands over you. "Baker! Baker, are you alright?!" "He's alright, stand him up!" "Baker, wake up!".. as you slowly focus, you hear "INCOMING!!!!!!!!!!" and your guy JUMPS up and you're right smack in the middle of a trench. Grenades exploding, people shooting. You shoot for a while. I turned around and saw a guy dead on the ground. I bent down and was shot. As I fell, I see a teammate stand up on top and scream "YOU WANT ME?! YOU WANT ME!? TAKE ME!!!!!!!" and throws a grenade. At that time, an explosion happens, he flies back, and lands on the ground right next to you. You can see his bloody face and his glasses are crooked. Scene fades out and you're on an airplane. You're in command of these boys. They're sounding off when all of the sudden the plane gets shot. Baker (you) looks out the door. You see hundreds of planes and thousands of parachutes. You jump. Your chute opens.. and the first true level begins.

It's AMAZING.
Does this game have 16 player Live modes?
No, it's a strategy/FPS mix. I think it's you and some AI vs. your opponent and some AI. It's quite fun. If you run and gun, you WILL die.

lol.. yeah, I took a picture of the TV with my camera.. it was too good to miss.. shot this guy and he kinda fell back.. I love ragdoll physics.

No it does not. It has 4 player live objective based missions.
Maximum 1 player to a team consisting of AI bots. Four teams total.
2 on Allies and 2 on Axsis. Axsis is trying to stop the Allies from completing there objective ie. . . Blow up a bridge and others.

I not yet tries but picked the game up yesterday at CompUSA fro $37.99.
Looks to be a lot of fun. Might give it a try this weekend.

i'm really liking this game offline i just got it yesterday afternoon. online i'm not 2 sure about but after i finish the great offline i'll go back and see how i like it after i'm good and exoperienced.

Great game... I could have gotten it for $15 cheaper if I waited today (best buy had for $35 with the $5 gc coupon).

There are three things that make this game stand out:
1. The Graphics; I'm staying over at my Moms place for a business trip and she thought I was watching a movie, not playing a game!
2. The Controls; tight controls; NPC go where you tell them.
3. The A.I. - never seen such good AI before and its not just the enemy but the NPCs and how they react. I had a few issues with a Tank taking the long way around to get to where I wanted it but that is the only issue so far.

I'd say this is a solid 9.0 game.

Yeah, the game is very impressive. All the big things like AI, graphics, and storya re there and then all the little things like bullet splashes and sounds, level design, creativity....and my new favorite, no cross-hairs

The supression system is also really cool though I want to replay the game with it off knowing that the idea of suppression works.

i got this game at BB last week. is anyone interested in playing online this weekend? i haven't even taken the shrink wrap off yet. is there a huge learning curve, or is fairly straight forward?

I also got the game for 30 at Best Buy, and this game is truly a steal in my eyes. For me, the game will take time to learn. I haven't had much time with it because of Chaos Theory, but it seems the tactics will take a little while to grasp.

did you use the GGC to make it 24.99? anybody interested in playing post in here and maybe we can get a 4 man CAG game going.

The tanks are kicking my ass.

gaelan...depends on what time you play, but I'd be up for it. Haven't taken this game online yet. Weekends work great for me as that's the only time I have blocks of free time to get some games in.
