Brownback: And we thought Alito was a problem.

In his dream America, the one he believes both the Bible and the Constitution promise, the state will simply wither away.
Sounds like he misplaced his reading glasses and accidentally mistook "The Communist Manifesto" for the gospel according to somefuck.

Of course, the rest of the article, in particular the very next sentence, refute my funny.

I wonder how the freedom to worship jibes with his interpretation of his bible ?
I guess if we don't all believe in Jesus Christ as our personal savior the State will wither and die.

Is there any reason this article had to be as long as ther freaking New Testament? Rolling Stone needs that much filler material ?

This man will make bmulligan, el and EVERYONE here shudder except for maybe PAD and Rich.
I'm sure this is the only thing you've ever read about him. Not that I'm announcing support of his candidacy or anything, but I'm doubly sure you didn't have any idea his voting record on human rights was the best in the Senate in the last few years and he's been the leader in the Senate on the genocide in Darfur.

So that makes steamrolling over the US constitution with a red-state interpretation of the christian bible OK?
I swear, between Fred Phelps, Brownback, The original evolution rulings, and Wizard of Oz, no one takes my home state seriously :wall:
So true.

I thought YOU of all people would've had my back here. Also I don't think I need to make a further statement disagreeing with you here since the article SHOWS where he contradicts himself.

i wonder if he believes that the earth was created in 6 days instead of current scientific data? I also wonder if he hated jurassic park, I mean why would god create anything just to go extinct, it would be a waste of his/her talent
Man, that nigger is crazy!!!

I met him when I worked in DC. Just thought I'd say that.
He came to my elementary school in I think 92 or 93 when he was first running, seemed decent enough at the time, but I was a stupid 5th grader, what the hell did I know.

You were probably far wiser than you are today.

"Man, I wish this dude would shut up so I can go home and watch GI Joe!"

I don't see the need to "have your back" here in any case since everyone is agreeing with you. While the article brings up some disturbing points about Brownback, it seems to ignore the entire record while masquerading as an in-depth article on the man. I was just trying to point out that there is more to him than that, and probably the more to him part few if any around here know anything about. It's very easy for people, especially in a place like this forum, to fall all over themselves to judge someone on the basis of one article without realizing they don't have the whole picture.

That said, the article does bring up some very good and valid points that I think will keep Brownback from getting anywhere near the presidency, if that's what this topic was supposed to be about.
