Hey all i recently started loving SNK, but i have always loved their MVS machine. the always seemed so easy to get, what with every pizza place in existence having one, but it seems so difficult to find one cheap. now, i cant afford one now, but i was just wondering if anyone knew where i could eventually get one cheap, like under 300. id prefer to find a two slot machine, but one would be fine.

Assuming you mean a cabinet, if you want one for a reasonable price you're going to want to get it locally. Shipping for those things is a bitch as they are huge and heavy.

Another solution might be a supergun (www.gwtrading.com, for example, but there are different ones) and getting a Neo-Geo board and hooking it up. Or you could get a Neo-Geo AES system, cheaper than a supergun or cabinet probably but the games are usually more expensive. Really depends on what kind of games you're going for, how much room you have, and how much $$$ you're willing to spend. In general, Neo stuff is not especially cheap.

Esspecially the "Game" is Pretty Expensive. Also, they have 2 NEW Geo NEo games coming out (Samurai Shadown 5, SNK vs Capcom: Chaos & Metal Slugs 5 both are over $250.00 price Range.

Samurai Shadown 5, SNK vs Capcom: Chaos & Metal Slugs 5 are the LAST 3 games for NEO GEO.

samurai shodown v $99 http://www.neostore.com/detail.asp?ProductID=1051

Metal Slug 5 $189 http://www.neostore.com/detail.asp?ProductID=1060

KOF 2003 $225 http://www.neostore.com/detail.asp?ProductID=1088 yes, this is very costly, but considering it just came out not even 2 months ago, it's cheap.

game prices vary greatly, i've picked up some titles (samurai shodown 2+3 for $20). Yes, mvs gaming con be expensive, but cheap compared to neo-geo aes (home system) gaming.

great places to check for neo-geo stuff are
www.neo-geo.com
www.snk-capcom.com

i really only want the metal slugs, and id just leave them in the machine. but yes im actually looking for the full cabinet. i heard an aes is cheaper, but the game price i heard kils it. if it doesnt matter that much, i could go with aes.

if you look around (newsgroups, ebay, newspapers, arcades) you can get a cab at a decent price, i have 2 cabinets that i got for about $300 total, not the greatest looking, but working; and 2 mvs boards at about $100 each. aes gaming is very expensive, and even with an !arcade! convertor (allows mvs carts to be used on an aes) but there is no guarantee that all games will work with it. and also, the mvs is officially dead (as of about 2 weeks ago), so keep that in mind as well. also, figure out what type of board you want (1, 2, 4, 6 slots) well as what type of games you may eventually want as well. (only ex. rage of the dragons has a problem on all but the latest 1 slot, the mv-1c, but works perfectly in a 2, 4, and 6 slot board)

from what i've seen, find any type of place (arcade, laundry mat, etc) that appears to have one that no one even uses and talk to the owner. or check out http://www.superauctions.com/ and see if you have one coming near you.

I am also looking for one. Basically though I have kind of given up and decided just to buy the ports.

PS2 is supposed to get Metal Slug 4
Xbox is supposed to get Metal Slug 3
both come out in April

Also KOF2002 is supposed to come out for Xbox along with SVC Chaos(which is an okay game but not great)

Sony U.S. has already rejected Metal Slug 3, so don't get your hopes up of seeing any MS games on PS2.

I know that, but Metal Slug 4 got listed on ebgames.com

Also I have no Ps2 so it really does not bother me all that much, as long the Xbox ports come I will buy them.

If I did find a cheap MVS I would buy one. I have been looking for a while, but am not going to pay over 300 for one.

well, another option to an mvs cabinet would be a supergun, or a box containing a ton of wires and powersupply (even a pc one will work) for this use as well.

you can check out http://www.massystems.com/SuperNova.html,
http://www.gwtrading.com/hga.shtml, or build one. it's cheapest if you already have an rgb (or scart compatible) monitor, or if you want to use it on a tv, you can use this, http://www.jrok.com/hardware/RGB.html. i use this on my supergun and it works wonders. more info to build your own can be found here, http://cps2shock.retrogames.com/jamma.html, www.hardmvs.com, or here www.gamesx.com. parts can be obtained here, http://www.dameon.net/BBBB/parts.html.

if you need anything else, let me know.

Or you could get your xbox modded and get the KawaX emulators which run CPS1 and CPS2 (capcom arcade games) and Neo Geo arcade roms perfectly like me!

Even bought a ps2 controller adaptor to use on Xbox so I could use my joysticks.
