Bruce Springsteen to offer free tracks through 'Guitar Hero'

Bruce Springsteen is set to offer free downloads of ‘My Lucky Day’ and ‘Born To Run’ via a selection of video games, including Xbox 360, PS3 and the Wii versions of ‘Guitar Hero: World Tour’, to celebrate the release of his new album ‘Working On A Dream’.

The downloads will be made available for free starting from the album's release date of January 27, going to February 4. After that they will be available for $2 each, says Billboard.

The third single from the album ‘Life Itself’ is currently available for free on amazon.com. It is the second track from the album that has been given away for free via Amazon. The single ‘Working On A Dream’ was made available as a free download via Springsteen's official website last November.

Stupid question, but... Can I download these from the Market PLace If I don't have the game? I love Born to Run and getting it for free for be "Boss" (HA!), but I don't have world tour yet. I plan on getting it, I just haven't yet.

I'm pretty sure you can do that. I've done it before when they released free Oblivion content and I didn't have the game yet.
 
Free tracks are now available on LIVE. I "purchased" them on xbox.com, then deleted them from my download que.

I don't have any version of GH, and don't know if I ever will, but if I ever do get GH: World Tour, I can still download the tracks for free, since I "purchased" them while they were free!

Just a tip for everybody out there!
 
bummer you need xbox live gold to download em :( I have silver right now though if I can find a year of xbox live at a good price online I'll probably repurchase a gold subscription
 
Can you play World Tour with just a mic? Will it play like Karaoke Revolution in this scenario? Will the other instuments be filled in if you only have the mic plugged in?
