Geez, I'd forgotten how bad the load times were in that game, no wonder I don't play it any more.

The loading doesn't bother me at all, but I guess some people are wanting more out of their games....not unexpected since this is "next gen"

What did bother me was that I've noticed the game freezing on me several times now. Anyone else having that problem? It sucks too because you lose your progress (of course).

I was just about to post the same thing! The loading screens are annoying, but tolerable. The freezing issues on the other hand are a pain in the ass!! It froze on me at least 3-4 times during my first hour or so. I've noticed users on Xbox.com and GF are having the same issue. Great game, but the technical problems really suck the fun out of it!

Hopefully they'll patch it or something, cause I really like the game, but I am going to break a controller if it keeps freezing.

Anyone have any achievements unlocking for no reason? A lot of people on GF are saying that their game will pause for a second then two or three random achievements will unlock.

I haven't played it yet, but I have a rental coming. I was reading the xbox.com forums last night and other were having the same problem. They said if you go back the menu and then reload your game all the achievements you missed will pop up.

50 bucks is too much for this. 30 would have been better for me because without deals, Bully for the PS2 is only 20, so why should I have to make 30 dollars more for new content. I'll wait for this to go down or find a better deal on this.

Scorch is a bit harsh. The load times aren't that bad. Yes, there is a bit of a wait when you first start, but after that they are only a few seconds. There are a shit ton of them, yeah, but a few seconds each isn't that bad.

sounds like this freezing problem is widespread and the achievements are somewhat broken. too bad this one's already in the mail to me.. just glad it's a rental and not a purchase. I hope they fix it quickly.

I've been really interested in getting this, since I never played it on the PS2. However, I doubt I'd have any time to really play it before GTA4 comes out anyway.

I'm really having fun with the game, but I'm now at a point where I'm getting so mad at the game for freezing on me so often that I may not finish the game just cause it is so frustrating to replay the stuff you lost due to the freezing.

Wow the freezing thing needs to be patched ASAP. It is on it's way to me now from Gamefly. Hope a patch is in the works.

got this last night after work, haven't seen any freezing, there is a lot of load screens, but they're not that bad, i'm having fun with it tho, it's like a nice filler from rockstar until GTA4 comes out.

Quoth the Rockstar Games:
We have just become aware of the issues people are having with Bully Scholarship Edition on Xbox 360. It appears that some older 360s are experiencing framerate issues, freezes and other problems. You have our word that we never experienced any of this in QA - in any of our offices or at Microsoft. I am horrified, and we are now working around the clock to rectify this situation. Thanks to Neo-Gaf for bringing this matter to our attention. We love our games and put a huge amount of energy and care into making them all that they can be. We would never shove anything out the door - we never have and never will. We apologise to everyone affected for the inconvenience. Respectfully, Sam Houser
LOL, I do not have an old console and I'm still having issues with it.
I was going to say the same thing. I have an elite that's less than a year old, and I had it freeze on me today.

At least they seem to be working on a fix. Hopefully we'll get a patch soon because I really like the game.

I picked this up as a literal last minute buy the day it came out. It's had it's glitches for me as well. The loading times do get a bit annoying, but so far most of the games I played have load times and they all feel annoying, so it doesn't seems so bad in that comparison.
As for the game itself, it's getting to be kind of addictive. I'm enjoying it.

Played a bit of it on Tuesday. Haven't experienced any crashes or audio glitches, but I was rather surprised at the framerate dips (which didn't seem to happen that often) despite how fugly the game looks. Load times aren't bad, but they sure as hell are frequent. It has given me a whole new respect for the GUN port.

But the game is still fun so I'll try to give it a complete runthrough before GTAIV comes out. Had I had a time machine I'd probably give it a rental though.

still no problems here whatsoever and i just finished the big halloween prank last night.

lol, u guyz haz old 360z.

it's weird cuz i have a nearly 2 year old 360 and have had no issues, i must be one of the lucky ones. (knock wood)

Ive had freezes, and the load times suck, well just the amount of loads suck, the times are brief but theres a shitload of load screens. The freezes have come at really annoying places, i.e. RIGHT BEFORE I GO TO SAVE AFTER DOING 3-4 MISSIONS. Thankfully that has only happened once, but it has frozen.

I never played the game on PS2. I'm quite bored by it. Its literally GTA for the tween set it seems lol.

I have a 360 that was made in April 2006 and got this game a few days ago. I'm kind of worried that the freezing will happen to me. Is it still somewhat playable despite this stuff or should I wait for an update before I remove the shrinkwrap.

I still think R*'s bitching about older hardware is faux.

I have an old console and have only have had the game freeze on my once in three hours+ of playtime. The lock up happened when I was running through the quad with 3 guys running after me, lots of stuff happening. When has the game froze for other people? Was it during lots of action on screen?

As far as the game goes, yes the framerate is bad and the graphics blocky and sometimes ugly but the gameplay is compelling and addictive. Also, after those three hours of playtime I only have 7.8% of the game complete, so if you like your games to last then the $50 may be worth it for you. The game also rewards you with new stuff, abilities and experiences on a fairly regular basis plus the story is interesting and pretty funny.

So yes, this game is a port and feels "last gen" but so did Tomb Raider Anniversary and I thought that game was pretty fun for the money. The game may look dated but the gameplay is still fresh and fun.

i have an old refurb console and mine has yet to freeze, but a friend has a brand spankin' new console and it is freezing. I really wonder if reviewers actually play the games. Especially, a game like this that they may have played on ps2. Sounds fishy, i don't see how no reviewers at all talk about this issue, then rockstar tries to make it sounds like it's a specific console that is having the problem.

I played for about 3 hours last night and as bad as I wanted to like this game because it was something fresh, it was a rather mediocre playing experience. I'll play some more this weekend to see if it gets any better. The load times didn't really bother me, but there were a number of other things that did:

 • No autosave. This was especially a PITA when it froze on me once.
 • The speed of the clock. I couldn't get into a rhythm. Hopefully I'll adjust to it later, but I kept having the feeling that the clock was going way too fast. I wasn't getting anything done because it was really hard to figure out if you actually had enough time to complete a mission.
 • The difficulty for some of the beginning missions was way too high. And it was more of a random difficulty.
 • I had to play through many missions multiple times before I figured out what the heck was going on.
 • Friendly fire was a big problem. Many times I was locked onto an enemy and ended up hitting one of my friends. I kept knocking out the nerds that I was supposed to be pretecting (mission failed!) even though I was locked onto the bullies.
 • The class minigames were frustrating. I was only beating about half of them because on the other half too much time had passed before I figured out what I was doing. And you can't retry them, you just fail. The game didn't explain what impact passing or failing actually has, but I didn't like failing.
Overall it just seemed like it lacked polish in the actual gameplay. Its a shame becaause with a few simple tweaks I would be in love with this game.

FWIW, I've played it 5 or 6 hours and it only froze on me once and that was within the first 20 minutes. From now on I'm extra cautious and hit a save point after every class and mission though, but that's a good habit to have.

Anyone have any advice on the auto shop minigame? I can't seem to do any of the left stick actions consistently without failing. I had the exact same problem on the PS2 version.

Oh yeah, I did have an issue with there being a delay with some achievements. Like, I won the 4 carnival games in the night and the achievement didn't unlock until two or three minutes later when I was already in the next morning. And I didn't get the teacher's pet or boy genius achievement until a good three or four minutes after I had actually unlocked it.

Make sure you keep spinning the stick until the icon stops. That's what I was doing wrong.

I found out by reading the PS2(!) strategy guide that you have to hold the analog stick up to the physical limit beforehand otherwise the game thinks you're doing a straight left/right/up/down maneuver instead of a clockwise move. I've been fine since I changed up my strategy to that.

Now the 3rd level of the Music mini-game is kicking my ass because of the ridiculous input window.

Do classes count towards the 100% completion? I might just keep on skipping Music class in favor of anything else if that's the case.

I'm gonna have to go back to the haircut place, Jimmy looks like a sellout with this auburn fade I gave him. I'm keeping the ill Aquaberry vest though.

I'm getting this from YF360G. Based on past games it should be in on Wednesday. Hopefully the patch is up close to then.

Just finished this today, had a blast with it.....I'm at 72% now so I'm thinking I may end up trying for the 100%.

Overall it was a great game, especially since I never played the PS2 version....

Throughout the game it froze up on me about 5 times.....and it sucked having to replay the missions I lost due to the freezing. The frame rate was a little slow at parts, and there was a lot of loading but I can honestly say that it is a solid game.

Really? Because I ordered Lost Odyssey a month ago from them and have yet to receive anything.

I only had two freezes in this in several hours of play. Nothing as bad as has been reported.

The achievements are kind of weird though. It took a little bit for the beat chapter 1 to unlock, and it took QUITE a bit for "do all 4 carny games" to unlock.

Thanks for the shop class stuff, that was awful on the PS2 and of course it wasn't fixed.
