As much as I see your point, there are some subtle differences. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a bum who aspires to be put in a fight like this, but some women who have appeared in porn did aspire to do it. And, when I say this, I'm thinking specifically of Jenny McCarthy and Jenna Jameson, who both said in separate E! True Hollywood Stories that it was something they aspired to.

You know not all of them "meant" to be homeless...actually most didnt...some were REALLY successful and lost all their money...or their wife left em and they went insane...try talking to one sometime...asshole...did you know that Sly from Sly in the Family Stone is a homeless person now? first off, this is imagining that the U.S. has some magical shelter for everyone to go in when nukes are launched at us..

i dont really see what this has to do with porn stars, but if they were homeless and living on the streets, and being paid a dollar to kick each others asses, we'd probably care more.
 
Well...I live in a 2BR 1B with my mom in an arptment...so your better than me right?...im just trying to get it straight...because if people that sleep on concrete are less human than you than I must be too...I but the homeless people have more integrety and good will than you do...
 
I thought the bums faught on their own free will? Nobody made them do anything. They didn't shock them ito do anything. There just trying to make a buck right? Both the bums and the guys giving them money to do stuff. Its their choice to do the degrading stuff. Thats seems to be the peoblem. They have made bad choices in their lives. Pertaking in these events are just another bad mistake. I know some were just because of bad luck but most are from some event of their own doing. Example drugs and alachol. I do have some experence on this since i grow up in La and we constantly had homless people trying to make a quick buck anyway they could to help feed their drug problems. Then there are the ones who dress up like that and sitt out all weekend or after a sporting event to make you feel sorry for them and then they make more in one day then most of us make in a week. Then pull the homless gig and live in a mansion and drive sus. I have senn it trust me. There is this one guy here in gainesville we call him WILLIE. He walks to a run down corner store next to some project apartment homes. Pulls out a wheel cahirs pust on some nasty clothes and sits there when he gets enough money he gets out his chair takes off the clothes and walks away. ( I eat at this chinease place al most everyday for lunch across from where he sits)

Actually not all of them seemed like willing participants. The Bum Hunter segments featured this asshole jumping on sleeping homeless people and wrapping them up in duct tape. Personally I would love to see the look on his face if someone broke in his house and did the same. Now whether the producers bothered to get everyone's release, I don't know. Regardless, they are scum for taking advantage of these people.

In the homeless case, many people who are homeless had jobs and were laid off. When these people are laid off the company fails to provide them with proper pension and eventualy they end up belly up in the streets. You think its their choice to be homeless? These people need our help. Everytime I see a homeless man I try to give him a few bucks, a handfull of change. What you are basicly saying is you are inferior to all people and you make it seem like you see it as only the rich rule the world. This is true in some cases, but these are human beings... you cant just let them die... they need a helping hand. So you just need to shut the fuck up, grow up, and stop being idiotic to see the big picture as the whole world doesnt just revolve around you. ....and for your comment on you just dont care about this... obviously you do if you keep posting in this thread you dumbfuck.

The biggest problem I have with Bumfights is it just wasn't funny. I have a pretty warped sense of humor but that video did not even elicit a chuckle from me.

In typical fashion you misunderstood. When I said "I don't care" I mean I don't care how the homeless live or die. I wasn't commenting about people's comments in this thread.

As for paternalism being the word of the day, I assure you, I have many other large words you would have to look up.

This issue is easily summarized: I could care less how the live/work/whatever. Other people believe they are better than the homeless and deserve the right to tell them how they should live.

Unfortunately, they are unable to apply their do-gooder attitudes/views to women in the sex industry. Ala - these women are being taken advantage of because a disproportionate number of them were sexually abused when they were younger.

But the best comment was "Don't put everyone in a box". So I guess its ok to put all the homeless into a box and collectively decide they are incapable of making their own decisions?

Otherwise that is just more garbage coming out of their mouth. You are just using that as the cornerstone to your arguement yet you probably dont even care about it. Also there is so much freakin porn out there that you have to doubt there are that many women getting sexuallly abused. You mean just like people who make the argument these bums are incapable of consenting to fighting? But I guess its ok in that instance to make a generalization? I didn't see an individual finding that the people in the videos were in anyway mentally unable to consent.

Last time I checked a substance abuse problem didn't equate to an inability to consent to a binding contract for work.

And you are right: I don't care. I don't care what the homeless do. I don't care what women in the sex industry do. I don't care what you do.

You however feel the need to tell other people what they should or shouldn't do based on what you feel is right for them - unless of course you enjoy them being debased for mere pocket change.
