About a week ago, I finally played the demo of Burnout Revenge on my copy of Madden. I had skipped over it because I don't usually like racing games. I didn't even bother playing it at E3. That was most certainly a mistake, however.

I fucking loved the demo. I played it a couple dozen times... it's incredible. I have totally been missing out on this franchise.

I bought Burnout 3 last night for $20, and I love that game as well, even though I can't blow up after crashes. :( I'm going to be playing B3 for a while, and I'm not getting Revenge until the end of October when Toys R Us has their B2G1 sale. If anyone wants to play on Live, my Gamertag is MattYoung. I suck right now, but the game's still fucking awesome.

I know. I rented Burnout 3 a while back, and it was a blast. I had fun just crashing into stuff. :)

I wish I could get the new Burnout game. It's bound to be awesome.

The burnout 2 directors cut for the xbox is really nice too, and cheap. There is not XBL suport other than scoreboards.
I love Burnout 3 but I seem to suck at it. I find that if I make one mistake I lose the race.
That is the only downside to races in all of the Burnouts. If you make a mistake you can't make up ground before the end of the race.

In the 1-lap Burnout: Revenge demo, I could blow up six times, be in last place, and still come back and win. I don't think I've won a single race in Burnout 3, though.

As much as I love the single player of Burnout 3, the Live setup is horrible. You can't jump into the same game/lobby as your friends and worst of all, it doesn't even show which lobby they're in. You'll have to search around for 'em. Totally lame. Hopefully that's fixed.

Burnout 3 was great fun for about 2 weeks.

Then, you get to the latter parts of tour mode that make you pull your hair out, and you suddenly get very tired of the game. And the online community isn't the best there, since most there are veterans that will boot you out.

I got all golds in the world tour in Burnout 3 except the last time trail which was fucking impossible.

But man I loved that game!

From the reviews I've read the online system has improved, implementing a matchmaking/party system like Halo 2.

And those later races are far from impossible. You just have to put the time into it to get those tracks down. If you think those races are hard, you should try some of the later ones in PGR2.

or maybe forza is harder

I prefer to think of it as the cats pajamas but too each his own.

This is one of the 6 games I didn't pack up for the moving coming at the end of the month and I know a bunch of the guys in the clan have it so maybe we can get a group up too night and play.

Burnout 3 was pretty cool. They tried to make the graphics too good, though, what with the shiny metal and shit -- I think it backfired. The EA Trax was enough to make me cut my dick off with a playing card, too.

I just called EB Games and they have Burnout: Revenge for the Xbox in today - after I had been told it wouldn't be here until tomorrow. I'll be crashing very soon!

I liked a lot of the songs on the soundtrack ... (the explosion, bouncing souls, jimmy eat world, reggie and the full effect, pennywise) I didn't however like Atreyu, new found glory, franz but it wasn't that bad. I guess i like punk rock more then i like generic metal rock or shitty rap hip hop beat shit.
I'm gonna get my copy of Burnout Revenge right now!
Except (unless you're downloading it, in that case, fuck you) most stores aren't putting it out until sometime later tonight (6pm or so).. Rhino told me around 12:30 or 1 so i'm about to give them a call.
What is really cool is to try some of the stuff you can do in Burnout 3 in real life :)
just listen to "here I am" by the explosion while you are driving and you can get real close.

Just picked up Burnout Revenge, it's so sexy that I got two copies!

EDIT: YESSSSSS!!!!!!!! They have "Sequentially/Randomly" in the custom trax thing on one screen and you highlight what you want instead of the confusing one in Burnout 3!

And the main menu music isn't annoying! I already love it more than Burnout 3. I even unlocked a new car with my Burnout 3 save!

ffs, it saved after I changed to custom soundtracks, so I don't have to do it everytime! Scorch is in full orgasm mode, watch out, Burnout Revenge all night tonight after class, holy hell!

No one's on Live with it.. haha! I'm the first person in the world to have a legit copy!

Well, not really. F this what am I typing for time to race!

ugh.. i just played my first race, if you want to call it that.. i cant believe they changed the game this much, it sucks so bad, i..

JUST KIDDING HOLY SHIT THIS GAME IS AWESOME I THINK I NEED NEW PANTS BEFORE I GO TO CLASS .. oh my GOD I love this game, it's a hundred times more addicting than Burnout 3!!!

How's the online setup as far as joining friends? Is it as messy and unintuitive as before having to search through lobbies or is it as easy as other Live games?

so is there an official cag burnout online race thingy (clan or otherwise) yet, if so I will try to pick up this game tonight

Wow, Burnout Revenge is pretty sweet. I love this game...I loved 3 and this is better.

Also, if you have a Burnout3 save you get a CRASH car.

If you have a Madden 06 save, you get the MADDEN BUS as a CRASH car.

Bring it on, beeeeeeeeyaaaaaatchhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

(One of those is actually Xecutioner's copy)
this one is going to be hard to hold off until the 40 dollar drop its so hard to resist
I'm waiting on principle. They told us $39.99 a few months ago and damn it I'm only paying $39.99 or less for it. I suppose I can say that though cause I have Burnout Legends to hold me over till then... Hey, there was no promise of a $39.99 price point on Legends.

Sweet! I'll PM you my mailing address so you can send that extra copy. Must be burdening you to have an extra copy that just sits around. I'll give it a good home. :)

NO! You betrayed me! How can you give away my copy?! Don't you remember the time I gave you blood/took care of your dog/(insert other chore/heroic act here)? How could you?!

Seriously, I'm glad to hear that the game is excellent. Hopefully I'll get to rent it Friday at Hollywood Video. Or maybe I'll get to buy it soon. I'm beginning to reconsider going to Monday Night RAW, so that would free up some money.

They said that if you were one of the people who put in the time to complete (or nearly complete, SCREW that last burning lap in the F1!!) the 3rd game, you're probably going to find the 4th installment more than a little on the easy side, because you don't have to avoid traffic as much as before, *and* because the tracks have been designed in such a way that you dont have to worry about as many "blind powersliding turns" like you did in part 3.

I'm going to get it, thats a given, but Burnout3 is going to be tough to beat. I played the Demo for 4 on the OXM disc, but frankly it seemed like more of the same to me, only the courses weren't as interesting. Sure, lots of jumps and side routes, but also not alot of technical areas...ie: s-curves, turning, and so on. seemed like lots of straight lines in the demo track.

I love the game, but i fthey make it TOO much like first-person-pinball, its gonna get a little stale.

I must have been the 1st one to buy this game at my local BB. It wasn't on the shelf so I had to inquire about it and the guy said they were probably still in the back. A few minutes later he comes out with the stacks -- both PS2 and Xbox versions. This was after 5 P.M. too! :whistle2:? Then at the checkout, I was PM with the Fry's ad and the cashier first said NO, since it was not the same as the pic (it has the PSP Legends in the ad). I then pointed out the print over the pic (Burnout Revenge for PS2 and Xbox also available). She called over a manager and I think he went to call and verify it (which I didn't mind), and about 10 min. later I'm out the door. Success! :)
