Hey everyone, i just got Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box for my PC today. However with Vista it does not work. What it does it will go to the loading screen for a little bit and then it will crash on me. The error details are as follows:

I can't recall, and I just uninstalled the demo, but does anyone remember if it plays videos on the menu? It could be a codec issue.
 
Hey everyone I am pleased to announce that I found a work around it i googled around on the "Fault Module Name: StackHash_fd00" and found this (which was suggested in this forum). Basically it says just disable the DEP on it and should work fine. I did that and now the game is working just fine. :)

Do you have a webcam integrated in your laptop?

If so, try going to device manager and disable it. I have noticed on a similary spec laptop that whenever the game tries to access the webcam it crashes the game 9 out 10 times. Setting webcam to "none" in the game config tool doesn't help, it seems to try to access it anyway.

On the laptop I tried getting it to work it went like this; If I chose the webcam in the game config it goes past the intro videos, but crashes whenever the game again tries to access the cam, which is usually on any screen showing your licence (when you create it after the intro videos,in the menu or when you complete an event).

If you set webcam to "off" in the game config tool then it seems to crash during the "EA" and "Criterion" vids at startup.

So the only way this laptop could run the game was if I went into control panel->Device manager and disabled it under "Imaging Devices". If not it would at some point throw me out with the same c0000005(Access violation) as you got.

So try that, and remember to check the game config tool afterwards to save so that it doesn't still try to access it.
