Bus advertisement for Prince of Persia angers mother and caused it to be removed

Unfortunately, people like her tend to have their way in matters like this. Many here may post scathing messages about this story, but nobody would be willing to take the time & effort to actively protest the removal of the ad. She made the effort of repeatedly complaining about the ad until the bus company removed it, because she cared enough (how much time did it take to compose & send those letters, after all?) More than can be said for those of us who are opposed to her point of view.

Any one want to chip in with me and build a Prince of Persia bill board right in the front of there house so the kid can look out his window and see Prince with a "AK-47" every night before he lays his wittle head to sleep?

Did anyone ever find out what this gun business arose from? Or was it just the media distorting reality for the sake of attention yet again?

Man, the Prince of Persia looks like something straight from the 80s compared to the Prince of PoP 2.. That'll kill the kid on the spot.

Yeah, I can't wait for him to see the sequel. Maybe the Prince will be packin' heat in the sequel.

By the way... Prince of POP 2? Isn't that Prince of Prince of Persia 2?

Anyone up for a caption contest?

That's actually how I meant it "The Prince" OF Prince of Persia 2. Luigi of Super Mario Brothers - it just looks really confusing now that I look back at it.

I simply wasn't satisfied with one panel... so I did a whole strip. I hope everyone enjoys it.

"Tristan has had nightmares about them, saying he sees the man with the gun," she said.

And after Tristan told his mother about his nightmares, he proceeded to watch Pikachu electrocute two humans until their charred flesh smokes, while Squirttle drowns a sparrow.

"I am shocked something like that is even on the bus."

If you're shocked to see what's on the outside, wait until you meet "Trenchcoat Frank" on the inside.

"They should be more careful what they're advertising because transit caters to kids as well,"said Transit Windsor bus rider Betty Riley.

Yes, because we really can't have suggestively violent ads to scare the kids, drunks, burnouts, and mentally disturbed individuals who use public transportation. How dare they!

"And they wonder why our jails are full and where these kids get these ideas from."

You're absolutley right, Betty. If there were no 5x15 ft ads of a 20-something man from the 14th century holding a blade on the side of a bus,
why our prisons would be empty! Damn you ad campaigns for poisioning the minds of our youth! Because of your menacing illustrations our children have gone astray!

I think you overloaded my sarcasm detector

The Canadian Version of POP had a gun to bypass all the violent sword related maimings, decapitations, removals of appendages and stabbings inexchange for a simple bullet in the head of the zombies....

I blame the bitchh, er mom.

I have heard the gun is in relation to the Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorrow ad, which is also by Ubisoft and I think also ran on the bus.

It's just a rumor, but it makes sense, seeing as how the article wasn't well written in the first place.

I swear the people that doctor up pictures the best are the one's who do photo work for Cosmo, at least for the front covers. I'd like to see how they do it and if they've thought of trying to extend their range to movies for special effects or computer animation.

Anyone else notice she's an unwed mother?

Hey Ledhed, that was hilarious but the older kid needs to whine about how his vagina hurts from all the bright lights and loud noise.

my question, since when has POP had a gun in it?
i haven't played that much, but i could have sworn it had no guns.

i guess i should complain everytime i see an r-rated movie billboard or poster, i should sue them.
i mean advertising and free speech should be illegal. or at least the freaks in canada think that way.
Anyone else notice she's an unwed mother?
Yup. And if I were a child and I started acting scared over a cheesy ad like the POP one, my mom's husband (my DADDY) would have set me straight for being a wuss.

Wronge Message? What the heck does that mean? The only message I'm getting is 'Stupid kid scared of fictional video game character.'

violent ads aren't good in a lot of people's opinons, esp. parents of little 2-4 year olds.(yes i still think this woman is a biatch, and is full of crap) but of course when people decide to protest them they pick the first thing that's always picked on..

VIDEO GAMES!!!!

i found an awesome example of stupid people today, i'll post it once i find it again.

Here's awesome example..

"If a woman burns her thighs on the hot coffee
she was holding in her lap while driving, she
blames the restaurant.

If your teen-age son kills himself, you blame
the rock 'n' roll music or musician he liked.

If you smoke three packs a day for 40 years
and die of lung cancer, your family blames
the tobacco company.

If your daughter gets pregnant by the football
captain you blame the school for poor sex
education.

If your neighbor crashes into a tree while
driving home drunk, you blame the bartender.

If your cousin gets AIDS because the needle he
used to shoot up with heroin was dirty, you
blame the government for not providing clean
ones.

If your grandchildren are brats without
manners, you blame television.

If your friend is shot by a deranged madman,
you blame the gun manufacturer.

If a crazed person breaks into the cockpit
and tries to kill the pilots at 35,000 feet,
and the passengers kill him instead, the mother
of the deceased blames the airline." -- an excerpt from some random email

taken from http://webhome.idirect.com/~stray/legal_disclaimer.htm

not 100% related but just a great example of people looking to get attention and blame someone else like when they were 6 years old.

I agree totally a few months back some parents sued the company that made Grand Theft Auto because it made their nine year-old learn words like 'hore'. In my opinion it's their own damn fault for letting a nine year old play a rated M game.

The ESRB puts those things on game boxes for a reason!

I bet they took down the ad to put up a Grand Theft Auto San Adres Ad! That will show them! Some hookers and guns should be real nice! :D
I used to run out of the room and cry (I think I cried, anyways) when I was 4 when "Thriller" by Michael Jackson came on. I used to have nightmares from that video.

So I can sorta see where the kid's coming from.
