Looks like you can get it on Amazon starting at $2.20. My guess is he got it cheap because it was bundled with the PS3 for so long and there are a ton of them floating around, just like King Kong was with the HD-DVD add on for Xbox 360. I actually have two copies of that one, haha.

Or maybe he just has some source we don't know about....:whistle2:#
 
If it is the PS3 promo version, then I don't think it is in the normal blu-ray case. So if you are a videophile, you might have to keep that in my mind if you get anal about your blu-ray cases.
 
Both orders I placed shipped and the refund has been processed. 6 BDs for like 84 bucks. I'm not gonna complain at 14 a piece.

My 100% satisfaction with Amazon went down to like 98% after this shitty action. I guess they still charge less than other stores gouge for the same movies (went to Meijer the other day and saw a few 3-4+ year old movies for $35), so it's not too much of a slap in the consumer's face.
 
I feel like people are getting worked up over nothing. CheapyD was kind enough to post the advertised sale ahead of time but there was no condition or statement those prices would be the same for the sale.

Yeah, this deal is still quite good even if the prices did go up. A lot of the movies went up by like 4-5 dollars but a lot of good ones only went up by a buck or so.

No they aren't.

The jump in prices happen to make this a deal breaker for many.

Personally, I like paying an average of $10 or less per movie.

I have a 800 disc DVD collection which I paid on average of $10. Do you realize how much money that is.

This go round and since DVD didn't last that long I'd like to spend, at the very least, the same amount if possible and if I'm buying lots of movies.

$15 a movie is NOT a deal, especially for stuff I've already seen before, and better yet, already have on DVD.

Sure it's great Cheapy posted the thread. That doesn't mean I have to like the deal changing ffs.

I have about 500 DVD's, it has as much to do with liking the movies as it does with collecting something I think is cool. I also pay on average $5 a dvd, $10 a BD. $15 to me is too average of a price. The sale isn't a sale to collectors IMO. It was really cool that the thread was posted, and I've no problems with this thread, but for me (and others at CHEAP ass gamer), these are not cheap enough.
 
Got I am Legend, 300, and Departed for $15.30 a piece. Thats a pretty damn good deal for blu-rays as far as I am concerned.
 
Grabbed Rocky, Death Proof, and The Usual Suspects. I thought about getting Planet of the Apes, but I decided I would rather wait and find a deal on the box set.

That's not bad.

My point is that for movies I've seen before, there's no harm in waiting for the right deal.

In some cases, I've either seen the movies in the theater already, have it on DVD, or both.

I have over 50 HD-DVD's and BD's and most were under $10 each - granted HD-DVD's were easy to get as the war got worse between the two, and then when the format died - but I just bought Rambo Trilogy for $18, which is $6 a disc. Clockwork Orange was $10 recently - these were both Black Friday sales, but it tells me that prices will be this low again, and get closer to it every day. A number of BD's at inetvideo are in the $10 range - not great movies but, well, that's how it always begins. Oh, and I bought Band of Brothers on BD for $35 just a few weeks ago - $6 a disc, if you break it up that way. To me that's a great deal. The deals are there, you just have to be patient and look. I wouldn't have been very surprised if Amazon had left these titles at the prices they were - and they would have gotten a lot of my money instead of none of it.

I do this with video games as well and have a huge collection of great games across all 3 consoles.

I couldn't do that by jumping for crap deals.

Yeah, I do wonder about some folks but what is cheap to one may not be for another.

Again, all I need to keep me in check is to look at my DVD collection that, even at that time, bought most on the cheap.

Rebuying the same movies or even getting new ones for more money isn't my cup of tea.

I think to myself, am I actually going to rewatch some of this stuff?

And I can see where others are coming from; compare these prices to Best Buy and yes, it's a great sale. But I set a limit to keep me in check a while back - $5 for regular dvd's, $10 for extra special ones (which I sorta consider HD to be). I still think $10 might be too much though.

Also true. I'm not sure of what I've rebought on HD - all the Harry Potters (and Amazon had a B1G1 on the HD-DVD's, plus the last one from Hollywoods closeouts), V for Vendetta (Hollywood), etc. There were a number of movies I just never picked up on DVD, even when they were cheap, because I didn't want to double-dip. I think all I've bought since I've bought into HD are tv shows, since those seem sooo damn expensive and my limit is $30, and I'd only buy really good stuff - Lost being something I'm hoping for. So, I hold little hope of that for $30.
It also seems that BD's are dropping fast - I see $15 prices online all the time, on good, new titles two. I think the war set a good precident and so people aren't paying a lot for these movies, since they had to keep them competitive before. Of course, there are plenty of $25 movies at BB to disagree with me.
 
Just got Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Crank, and Disturbia for $40.90 shipped.

I was thinking about just getting TCM and Crank when they went back down to their original prices of $18 and $13, but I figured Disturbia is worth $10 to me.
