Okay, so I'm about to place an order. I thought it was mentioned earlier that the cart automatically knows to discount the 3rd and 6th game...but when I had 3 19.99 games in my cart, as well as 3 7.99 games, it just took 2 of the 7.99 games off. Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong, if anything?

As far as I know all you can do is group the items in to different orders, which sucks because you have to pay shipping on both. At least this is some consolation for Puffa469... he would have been ripped off if he kept those VMUs in his cart.

Just like when you do a B&M purchase during this sale the reason you get two of the 7.99 games for free is because they discount you the cheapest game for your free one.

I figured as much, but someone mentioned it docked their 3rd highest price game instead of their 4th earlier, so I was just curious as to if EBGames.com was actually "smart" about this sorta thing. Guess not.

Ahh, thats some consolation then! =)

Sucks that people have to put in 2 orders tho...

When I picked up 6 games at the b&m during the sale last week I made sure to point that out to the salesgirl. But she said the computer 'knew' and showed me the screen and sure enough it had deducted the cheapest of the 3 highest priced games and the cheapest of the lowest priced 3 games, so ymmv on that one. Just be alert and you shouldnt get ripped. I always have a rough estimate of what I'll be paying in my head before the total is rung up, that way if the total is way off then an alarm goes off in my head.

btw: I love buying used VMU's cos they are usually full of game saves... ya never know what your gonna get! It sure would be nice if I could get one with a MvC2 save with everything unlocked.... save me alot of time! lol

Heh, that's true. I need to go pick up some VMUs today while I'm out, since they're so stupidly cheap. My EBGames still has a few of those Dreamcast Bundles they had a while back (maybe a year ago, possibly two years ago) that have a game and a VMU in them for 7.99...and I'm eyeing the Super Magnetic Neo/VMU and Red Dog/VMU bundles. (Ooo, and speaking of "why the heck do you still have these in the store" deals, they had one of those Dreamcast 3rd party arcade sticks for 2.99. I'm far too lazy to see who made it, but its the big green one, not the official one. It had the original box too, which was pretty shocking to me.)

So back on topic of the B2G1 sale, I grabbed Devil May Cry 3, Capcom Classics Collection (Xbox version), and Killer 7 (PS2 version...meh...6 bucks cheaper) for about 45 dollars after shipping and taxes. Capcom love all around it seems.

has anyone figured out the formula for the price point where b2g1 starts to beat out the normal coupon codes? For example I know that buying three $7.99 games still ends up being cheaper if you use the normal codes (shipping puts it slighly over with b2g1). I'd try and figure it out but I'm at work now and I can't slack off THAT much.

Umm, I'm too lazy to actually try to think of it...but I'd assume 4.99 titles are the cheapest. Since it is 33% + 2.50 (shipping) vs. 15%...it would be 12.50 + taxes - Edge with B2G1, and it would be ~12.75 with CAG15 + taxes - Edge. So B2G1 is still a wee bit cheaper with 4.99 titles...but ~25 cents isn't worth bothering over.

I'm still wracked with indecision here. I could get Atelier Iris, Radiata Stories, and Fatal Frame 3 for like $75, or I could get them in mint condition from gamefly for probably $90...

Guess I'll just wait.

Qty Product Name Each Total
1 Grandia Xtreme - Pre-Played $24.99 $24.99
1 Phantasy Star Online Episode I and II - Pre-Played $29.99 $29.99
1 DOOM 3: The Collector's Edition - Pre-Played $26.99 $26.99
Total Discount -$33.19
Subtotal $48.78
S & H $2.49
Sales Tax $2.85
Total $54.12

i don't know if PSO Ep. I & II is worth anything anymore, but it seemed like a good choice. and Grandia Xtreme is still semi-rare, so $18 a piece isn't bad. Doom 3: CE i sadly missed during the black friday sale.

for B2G1 it's

.66x-.1x, so .56x + 2.50 shipping.

normally it's

.75x with free shipping,

so equating the two one finds the price at which you should switch to B2G1 from regular codes is at $4.09 per game, assuming you have the edge card.

If your talking about that 'Dreamcast Arcade Stick' the grey /white one with the green ball and buttons, that thing rules! How much was it? I just got one off Ebay last night and I paid $55 with shipping, maybe not the best deal but this is the only good stick for fighters the DC has. I did pickup the sweetest gamepad for the DC in EB b&m the other day. $2.99 for the ascii pad, a six button on the face digital only pad (no stick) shaped alot like the Saturn pad. This thing is pretty sweet for playing 2D fighters.

Well, this one is made by TopMax. It isn't the most solid of things, but for 2.99 it was fantastic.
Deal is dead, yeah?
Nope, still going on, but they only have two of the three games I want. It's been like that most of the weekend.
