Went to Gamestop tonight (Warwick, RI) and they were having a sale on DVD's - buy 2 DVD's and get 3 for equal or lesser value for FREE!
I was positive that the "BUY 2 GET 3 FREE" sign meant "Buy two get the third free" but when I went to the register the clerk told me it was indeed 3 free.

They're getting rid of all their stuff for all the Moviestops to take-over. The guy also told me the sale next week will be "Buy 2 get 4 Free" but by then I expect everything to be gone besides Halloween sequels (specifically Part 3, Season Of The Witch).

to elaborate on sonic's post. gamestop has been running this "sale" for a very long time. most of the ones around here have actually been doing the buy2get4 ever since it was first introduced.
 
Ah. I figured it was new because the Gamestop I frequent is one of the only three GS's in the area that still carries movies and they hadn't started this sale until just now. My B, fellas.

Just a quick PS - does everyone realize how ridiculously well you can get away with on this deal right now? With an Edge card, and the current 20% flyer this week, you can get a hell of a lot of DVDs for super cheap.
I got:
Simpsons Season 1
Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 3
South Park Season 8
Seinfeld Season 5
Family Guy Season 3

for a total of $25 (Simpsons and Seinfeld were both $18 + 10% off (Edge Card) + 20% off (Coupon)
This is the absolute single best deal/coupon/whatever I've ever seen when it comes to seasons of television so I'm surprised I haven't seen it on here...

They really allowed you to stack the Buy 2 Get 3/4 with the 20% coupon? That's got to be YMMV. Oh well. I guess I'll find out myself today when I go out, assuming any of the local GSs have DVDs I want because at this point, they basically all have crap.

Except the coupon doesnt work on dvds as its 20% off games and accessories. Not to mention most gamestops barely have movies left anymore.

Last week I got Full Metal Panic & Neon Genesis Evangelion complete collections and 3 other DVDs for $14 total. Also got Walk Hard, both Tomb Raiders, The Descent (w/ slipcover), and Dragon Wars for $12 total, as well as a $1.99 Sunshine.
 
Yes, the deal is crazy.

Although I have to admit, I did research after I posted this and the deal DID begin in February for some Gamestops, so yes, they mostly have crap now.

Although it's true that some Gamestops (like mine) didn't start the sale until recently, and the Gamestop clerk also told me that they are supposed to still be taking in DVD's, in trade, even though they are actively getting rid of them. I told him it didn't make any sense, and he told me that as soon as the Moviestops all open, they get their used section from the closest Gamestop.

But until a Moviestop opens near the Gamestop, they take in movies in trade (and pay you almost nothing) and turn around and sell them for either Buy 2 Get 3 Free or Buy 2 Get 4 Free. Pretty retarded.
 
i don't know if you guys took advantage of this but my local gamestop had blu-ray dvds too so i asked them if the buy 2 get 4 free included the blu-rays and they said it did so i came home with 6 blu-ray dvds for 35 bucks... they didn't have a great selection though only had 7 blu-rays... going to head back next week to see if I can exchange one of my bad ones
