Buy 2 Seasons Of LOST [Blu-Ray] save $20, Buy 3 Save $30, Buy 4 Save $40

While I would love to have Seasons 1 & 2 in Blu to go with Seasons 3 & 4, I just can't bring myself to pay that much for them. Later on, if I find a great deal or a mint set on ebay, then maybe. But otherwise, I'll live with the regular DVD's for a while longer. They look pretty good upscaled. Not Blu good, but pretty good.

Sorry to drag up an old thread here but now that S1 & S2 are shipping (just got the email) I figured I'd ask if anyone got the $34.99 price that Season 2 dropped to for a few hours that some said Amazon claimed was a mistake? My shipment email just shows both seasons at $48.99... I have an email from a CSR specifically stating I WILL only pay the $34.99 price so I sent that back to them and asked what happened.. we shall see.
They did this deal a while back. Probably not worth it though for Blu-Ray snobs like myself. The sets have slightly different packaging. Season 3 is hard to find a slipcase for, maybe not in stores but certainly through a blind online buy.

There will undoubtedly be a nice full set close to 2011. They did it with Alias, they certainly will for Lost. It'll probably cost a shitload, so maybe this deal is good for those who want the sets but don't care about product aesthetics.
im getting them and when they announce that set ill just hawk my seasons 1-5 on craigslist or ebay for 150 total or a little more

i have to have my lost on bluray right now! btw has anyone found out the info on season 5's dharma set?

A complete set probably won't be anything more on the features side, but might have some cool packaging, but really, it's not worth waiting for if you're a dedicated fan as these discs have a ton of things as it is. Earliest I can see them doing that is, what, December 2010? Not like these Blus are barebones or bottom of the barrel, Lost on BD has some, if not the, finest transfers the format can offer and are truly stunning.

Anyway unfortunately no news on the Dharma set but at that price difference of like 50 bucks it better come with some REAL great collectibles; I know that's what I'm hoping for.

yeah i hope it comes with good swag and not something stupid like a shirt, mug etc.

and i like cool packaging and i prefer complete sets for that packaging and the fact that it usually takes up less space on my shelf im just glad i held out on those BSG dvds this long cause that set looks AMAZING but something like lost i cant wait on cause it wont come till after the final season which is what? like early/mid 2010? then you have to wait months and months after and they may just release the final season on blu/dvd then wait another 6-12 months before doing a complete set

For those who are still on the fence on this deal, just read online that there are mail in rebates if you own the first 2 seasons. It's a mail in rebate of $20 per season. So, once I get those back my sets will only have cost me $21 apiece. Even cheaper if Amazon doesn't tax you. Thought I'd throw that out there.

Do you have a link for this? And I wonder if there is still something like this for season 3???

Yep, there is a rebate form enclosed with S1 and S2 to get $20 back. What concerns me is that it's pretty specific that purchases must be made between 6/16/09 and 6/16/10 to be eligible, of course my Amazon receipt has a date of back in March when this deal first started, and I can't find a number to call to make sure they won't screw us who pre-ordered. (I can't imagine they would but one never knows)

I'm not normally big on these update rebates but the proof of purchase tabs are pretty tiny and getting $40 back would make these a pretty sweet deal.

(got mine today-- Amazon packed them in a padded envelope and they got a bit beat up... ugh. Disc 7 of both sets were floaters, S2 got pretty scratched and I may ask for a replacement, S1 looked ok)

I know this is immoral, but could you buy the season 3 on amazon w/ the slipcase and take it off and put it on the season 3 you already own, and return the sealed season 3 w/out a slipcase back to amazon and get your money back?

That would be a lot easier at a B&M unless you live in the bush.

Oh yeah, I could just do it at Best Buy if they have the ones w/ the sleeve.

Does anyone know if the rebates for S1 and S2 only come in pacakages that have a mail in rebate sticker on the front? The two I got from amazon do not have any sticker.

Both my S1 and S2 had no sticker on the front from Amazon and they both had rebates inside. If you open yours and there isn't one for some reason, I'll send you one of mine.
The rebate fine-print says the receipt must be from a cash register in the same state as the submitter.
Disney's rebate people accept amazon invoices. You can call or email the rebate company if you need reassurance.

Yay, Amazon gave me refund for S1. I got both for $50.
