Buy a PS3 250GB Console, Get a Free Select GH Game and 2 Select Blu-rays at Amazon

the game choices are... passable. the blu-ray choices are really bad IMO. I guess I'll wait a little longer. :( thanks though.

Only good movie i see is Felon. Great movie IMO. Besides, you could always return the blu-rays you don't want to Wal-Mart.
 
*SIGH*. The games are the same ones from the buy 2 get 1 free. As for the movies, i wouldnt want to buy any of them. For the same price i could get PS3 120gb, God of war collection, and either LBP GOTY or Ucharted 2 with discount/coupons i have. Its gunna take a better deal than this for me to bite. Im really looking for a bite bad too!

Ooo I like the sound of those coupons :p That sounds like a way better deal. I missed out on the black friday gamestop deal and i'm really regretting it
 
Just an fyi, i had ordered the 250gb slim b/c of recurring ylod on my 60 gb two days ago. It is set to arrive today. i called cust svc and they credited 55.97 to my account. Told them I would not be available to refuse delivery. Just a thought if you wanted to order a ps3 slim today and then once shipped call cust svc.

Anyway, not a bad deal. They could have had a better movie selection I suppose. Though I don't find it as repulsive as other people have.
 
I believe the earlier versions of PS3 have the equivalent to Microsoft's Red Ring of Death (RROD). It is called the Yellow Light of Death. I (sadly) bought a second hand 40GB PS3 (upgraded to 320GB) and the bluray drive was making noises when I put a disc in. Although the software part worked fine. I had to fork over $150 (it was out of warranty) and it was switched with a nice bluray drive. Anyway, I think it does not come back on with the YLOD. It sucks he had to do that since he had a 60GB which has the memory card reader, PS2 backwards compatibility which is good since you can play older games on one system.
 
Yea, my YLOD is from the GPU overheating. I've successfully reflowed and reapplied thermal paste to the PS3 and it's up and running but I question how long it will or won't run before having to do it again. The good news is that I was able to copy all my saves, sans the locked ones, and retrieve fallout from the blu-ray drive. The 150 dollar refurb is kinda a ripoff b/c they only give a 90 day warranty and you have no idea what was fixed, so 4 months later you could find yourself in the same suck situation, another 150 dollars.

Just a word of caution - those types of comments will get you banned from CAG. You can talk about that all day on SD or FW, but it is not tolerated here.
 
This is a damn good deal IF you don't plan on upgrading your HDD.

For $50 more you get twice the hard drive space, which is always useful on PS3. 250GB is the smallest I'd ever consider, plus you can get Uncharted, Casino Royale and Felon free.

Someone's seen a better deal than this? I admit, those aren't the greatest choices, but there's several decent movies in there and a game or two that are worthwhile. I'm guessing anyone who's jumping on this does not own a PS3 (like me) so a free old game is decent. I might just bite on this one. I'd snag "The Patriot" , "Resident Evil" , and then Uncharted or Resistance:Fall of Man.
 
I'm with you FoxHound, if this were the 120gb I would have bitten right away. I'm still looking at the Sonystyle.com package with two free games and the 120gb.

I think that deal is dead. Ive been checking that site, hoping they would come out with a better deal soon.
