I'm not coming to thread crap, Its actually a about as cheap as Ive seen the Sony 3d tvs with packages. Sadly, Affluent Ass Gamer has not been created yet and probably would be a better fit though.

According to CNET both Panasonic and Vizio.

To be fair, at the point I'd be blowing $2,300 on a TV, what's another $100?

I am actually thinking about biting on the BB deal on this week's ad, this TV has Wi-Fi
and shizzle. No 3d kit, but that's ok- I don't care for 3d...

:ps3: Buy the Sony 46" LED HDTV model KDL46NX800 for $1299.99, get a 160 PS3 system, Gran Turismo 5, and the Bluray movie Grown Ups all for free.

I bought this TV last month from US-Appliance for the same price (I sold the PS3 + movies). It's an awesome TV... one of the top LCDs out right now. It performed pretty well at the 2010 HDTV Shootout.

Really good deal. I recently got the 47" LG 3DTV (reviews were alright; I've been more than happy with it) which came with 4 pairs of 3D glasses free and a 3D LG BD player free for about ~$1700 via Amazon.

Fools parted from their money, that is all. Smart choice would be buy more games with the money you saved from buying a TV solely for a pathetic gimmick but no one would dare listen to a sane man, nuh uh.
Is this based on price vs. performance or strictly performance?
I love Vizios. Had one for 4 years now and not a single complaint. I hate panasonic though. They have good sound, but the picture is not nearly as good as the Vizios, and there was burn in issues with it too. My roomate has one so thats how I know.

Panasonic are on par with Sony and Samsung, but I can guarantee you Vizio is NOT. I don't care what CNET says. I've seen them both. Vizio is better than they used to be, but they're still middle tier on performance. Also, is it just me or are the actual TVs they sell ugly? They're better now but when I first started looking at TVs years ago, their designs turned me off before I looked into them. Vizio's aren't that bad, don't think I'm hating on Vizio, but they can't compete with upper model brands. But then again, you get a good bang for your buck, just not the best.

For LED tv's, Sony and Samsung are top tier. Sharp, LG, and Toshiba are just below. Panasonic's LEDs are good too I'm sure, but when it comes to plasma they are at the very top.

LCD has been around so long now that I still say Sony, Samsung, and Sharp are the best (imo), but even middle tier and some bottom tier tv's are really good on PQ.

With LED though, I think Samsung has the better looking sets cosmetically, especially the slim design, but they have that cloud issue, and Sony doesn't seeing as they're edge lit. It doesn't detract any for me, personally, but I notice the clouding on the edge of the TV.
