The DJHERO10 code pushed me over the edge making $70 for the bundle almost half price. thought it was a good way to use up that $100 promotion code that came with the 360 arcade unit expiring 12/31/09

Nice. I ordered a :ps3:DJ Hero and had $30 credit (20 from MW2, 10 from AC2) and the DJHERO10 did work for me. So after all that, $79.99 wit FS and no tax, plus a $40 amazon credit that will be used towards God Of War 3 Ultimate Edition = win!!!

Now, no more games for a while! lol

I want guitar hero 5 and dj hero, I tried really hard to justify buying both. I already have 3 guitars and I just want the gh5 game but even with my 40 credit from the buy 80 get 40 and my mario 10 credit I still can't justify spending 40 bucks.

With DJ Hero and my credits plus the DJHERO10 credit, it's still 60 bucks for me. I know you get a 40 buck credit back but it's still 60 bucks to shell out. I think I'm going to wait as well until it drops to 60 bucks right out the gate. It doesn't seem like we will have to wait very long for that to happen.

IIRC, Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Bundle (guitar + game) was 60$ on last year's black friday.

Something tells me GH5 Guitar bundle would go the same way.
ordered dj hero a week ago, hoping amazon will give me the promotion after emailing them. instead of having to order another one and return my still sealed copy. it'll be much easier if they just give me the promo and not have to waste anyone at amazon's time besides CS.
I did the same thing. I just called amazon, They told me the only way to get the deal is if I returned the sealed DJ Hero and re-order it with the new promotion. I said I was willing to do that then he said well I can offer you a $30 credit instead of a $40 credit and I dont have to return the game. I went with the $30 to avoid the trouble, also since I opened the game. After my other amazon credit I paid $85 for the game and now have another $30 credit back on the account. Thanks OP!!

If I could find a sucker... erm, buyer to take this game off my hands I'd actually do this just to get the $40 credit. Oh well.

Flip it on ebay.

I hope nobody bought the Band Hero Bundle. Doesn't seem like a very good deal at all with BF just around the corner and Best Buy already has it on sale for $150

Or you can get something like GHWT Bundle (since the instruments are compatible) + Band Hero game separately for around $150.

I'm really just mad because I want it but not at these ridiculous prices ;).

Jumped on DJ for PS3. Got it down to $85 after promo credit. Let's hope black friday doesn't screw us over.

Slightly Off-Topic but has any tried to use the Video-On-Demand credit on anything else besides the select TV shows?

I have an order placed for No More Heroes 2 (comes out in January) that has $40 in promotions applied to it from various preorders. If I cancel it, will I get my promotion credit back from that order?

Ideally I'd like to cancel that, use the $40 in promos on GH5, and then use the new $40 from this deal on NMH2. Thanks for your help.

Couldn't resist grabbing another DJ Hero for the 360. I actually found a used one at a local game store about 2 weeks ago; paid about $75 in store credit, but this is even better. Here's the breakdown:
-$10 Promo is from DJHERO10
-$4.01 Promo is a little I had left over from a MW2 preorder credit
-$100 from the Arcade Lightning Deal a few weeks back
-and, of course, I'll have the extra $40 coming back to my account

Also, they let me re-enroll for an Amazon Prime Trial, even though I did it years ago, so got bumped up to 2nd day shipping for free.

Sweet deal! :applause: Amazon gets me again! I don't even know what I'll do with this one. Might break it out for a a little head to head, or might just toss in on CL....who knows! At that price, I'll buy now, and decide later.

It might get near $80 in the next few months, but at @ $65-70 in cheap Amazon credit, it works for me now, especially with free shipping and no tax.

they should go back to your account, but just make sure that the $40 in promotions you used haven't expired yet. anything you recently got the promotions from (like modern warfare 2, left 4 dead 2, new super mario bros. wii, etc.) should be fine and go back into your account. i recommend doing what you wanted to do to get the GH5 bundle if your coupons haven't expired

Just got the email with a tracking number and an arrival date of Tuesday, along with confirmation that the $40 credit should be in my account within two business days.

Nice!

Ordered GH5 for 360 at 2:38 pm... got an email saying it was shipped at 3:52 pm. Took an hour and 14 minutes to ship... on a Saturday! Gotta love Amazon with their game credits and fast FREE shipping. Got mine for $69 after $20 code and $10 L4D2 credit. Now, what to do with my new $40 credit.... AC2 is getting great reviews...

Caved on the GH5 360 guitar bundle for $68.99 ($10 credit from AC2 or SMBW, $20 for the B$80). Bought pretty much just for the guitar. For some reason I don't find my Les Paul as comfortable anymore.

This deal got me introduced to Amazons trade in system. Needed a new guitar but already have gh5. ended up buying the bundle for $80, then trading in Gh5 for $20. While I was browsing through the trade in stuff I found a couple of my old college books having decent trade in values so I ended up trading in $150 worth of stuff.

Ending up with a new guitar for myself and $190 amazon credit. Spent $80 to get it and the books cost me an arm and a leg but school buy back gives like $5 for them and no one wants to buy anthro books.

Do you have a link for more info about trading in college books? I still need to dump mine from last year.

EDIT: Nevermind, found it.

Sorry for the confusion on my post. 10 off was the DJHERO10 code and the rest was from credit from game purchases I had recently (Mario Wii and MW2: $20 and $10 for the prestige and regular edition).

Cool, a lot of them were not accepted but the few that did were worth the $20-$40 trade in over sitting on my shelf or giving back to the school for $0.12 or something ridiculously low while spending hours in a line.

Edit- staying on topic, it is pretty odd that Amazon let us do this deal on top of the -$20 from last weeks deal.

Is anyone having trouble with Amazon? I'm trying to proceed to checkout, but IE can't display the page...

RCS0926, yeah I had to reload/refresh the page about 10 times or more before getting in properly. When I did finally get through, the codes did work though :) Hope that isn't a preview of what we'll be experiencing come Black Friday =P

Uh... I can't decide what to do! I have $43 left in Amazon credit from the $100 I got from my credit card rewards program. Should I use that $43 and the $10 off DJHERO10 coupon? I would still have to come out of pocket almost $70... but then I'd get an additional $40 credit. Amazon credit is almost as good as cash considering how much I spend there.

Get DJ Hero. :bouncy::applause:

Come on, just pull the trigger. You're almost there, and that $40 credit can really go a long way with Amazon. :applause:

Meh I'd wait for Black Friday or a price drop. I don't think it's selling all that well so I figure there will be a price drop or another sale at some point.

$70 and a $40 credit? Yeah, I'd do it. I love using the $40 credit. Seeing that receipt for a brand new game for only $5-10 is a very nice feeling.

This is kind of weird. I put DJ Hero in my cart and tried the $10 off coupon and combined with my L4D2 $10 off and my Assassin's Creed $10 off, it comes to $89.99. Then at the top it also says "Congratulations. Your purchase has qualified you for a $40 Amazon.com promotional code. The promotion code will be applied directly to your Amazon.com account up to two (2) business days after your product ships."

I'm not even totally sure I want DJ Hero, but if I can actually get that $40 credit (I can't even figure out why they are offering it to me!) then it's an insanely good deal.

DJ Hero was the only game I really wanted. I'm glad this deal came up because getting DJ Hero for $70 this early in its life cycle is a steal. I still have several games in my backlog like Super Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, so I'm glad I didn't end up getting another game or two that I wouldn't have played for a while. I'm definitely going to be playing DH Hero since it's good for pick up and play sessions. It will always be in my game circulation like Rock Band 2, so this is definitely a good investment. Amazon is awesome!
I would jump on the GH5 bundle but Amazon still owes me another $10 credit for my NSMBW or AC2 preorder. QUOTE]

Amazon has been slow about the credits.

I emailed them twice about the $20 COD:MW2 credit but still haven't gotten the credit over the last 7-days.

Does anybody know how long it takes amazon to e-mail you the $40 promo code.

I ordered the Guitar Hero 5 Guitar bundle last night and my confirmation page, confirmation e-mail, and shipment e-mail (it shipped yesterday around 6:30 EST) all of them say I will receive it in 2 days from shipment. It sounds like everyone else was receiving them almost immediately upon shipment.

I think I might want to use that credit and some amazon credit I already have toward DJ Hero.
Good for the bank account, bad for the soul.

Why of why isn't Renegade Edition on the list D;
I know, I would've ordered if the renegade edition counted.
BTW guys, Amazon discount DJ Hero 360 to $99 today, so I shot off an email to see if I can receive the discount on my order that I placed yesterday/

http://www.amazon.com/DJ-Hero-Bundl..._1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1258926960&sr=1-1

Only 360 version is discounted to $99, PS3 & Wii are still $120
It seems that Amazon didn't discount DJ Hero 360... J&R Music and Computer World did. They're showing up as the default seller now, probably because of the decreased price. Anyhow, the $40 credit promotion requires Amazon to be the seller, so buying from Amazon at the higher (MSRP) price is still the better deal.

EDIT: Whoops, Gerbar beat me to it.

Does the buy80get20 coupon still work? can anybody confirm?

I am feeling really frustrated since I bought GH 5 Bundle for then there were buy80get20 and this promo now... thinking of returning it and buying again, bad luck is bad :(

Yeah it's real lame that the Renegade edition isn't a part of this. Guess I'll still be waiting for next year to get it.

Can't confirm, but this was the fine print:
"Only purchases from Amazon.com as the seller and made between November 15, 2009 and November 21, 2009 will qualify for this promotion. The promotional claim code may only be used once per household. The promotional claim code will expire at 11:59pm PST on 11/21/2009."

I felt like I was reading a James Joyce novel trying to understand this. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.

Rofl, sorry, just noticed how that made no sense... I think I was a bit distracted while typing. What I meant to say was that I bought guitar hero 5 before both of the current promotions appeared (B80G20 and this one), therefore I was really frustrated about that because my GH is still sealed, so I could've waited for them and paid a lower price.
