Amazon has it for $87.99. Other dealers offer for less (froogle search), but the dealers are shady at best or have minimum orders of $650. It seems like this is a wise choice for anyone in the market for a WiFi adapter for the 360.

Is there any other way to hook up an Xbox 360 wirelessly? It seems a shame that the WII at $250 comes with WIFI, but my $400 360 requires a $100 (MSRP) add on.

You can buy any old wireless ethernet bridge. I got one for $15 and it works fine with my Xbox.


Quick question. Does this support WPA?
 
From XBox.com's setup instructions for the adapter:

Enable wireless security on your router or access point. Your wireless networking adapter supports WPA and WEP security. When you enable wireless security, you establish a key that "encrypts" the data being wirelessly transmitted so that it is decipherable only by computers with the same key. Furthermore, WPA automatically changes keys on a frequent basis, making your system more secure.

Note:
Some copies of the instruction manual for the Xbox 360 Wireless Networking Adapter state that the adapter is compatible with the WPA2 security standard. At this time the adapter works only with WPA and WEP security.

can you actually point out a device that will work with the 360..

im trying to get rid of wires and this is too expensive..


does the bridge just trick the 360 into thinking its wired? how are the speeds etc?

Good luck with the usb/ethernet power, I don't think one exists.
 
Does anybody have the "Logitech Play Link"? I was reading reviews and it looks good for live play but not downloading. Can anyone comment on it?

Got it a few weeks ago, and what you say is correct, took a long while to download a demo, but since it was doing so while watching an HDDVD I didnt mind, online play is good with it, so nice to have that unsightly blue ethernet wire out of there
