Buy one FYE giftcard for $50, get another for $10, free (good for trade-ins)

CAGiversary!
I just got home from FYE a few minutes ago, and was able to get $62 credit for $52 worth of trade-ins. It wasn't the best deal ever, but it was a free $10, so I figured someone might be interested. Basically, after I had traded my games in, I asked if I could put the money on a giftcard, and the clerk told me about the deal. And it also works so that if you buy a $30 giftcard, you get another for $5, free. I apologize if this has already been posted, but I figured someone might be interested. :)

sweet man. I was planing to go there tomorrow. You just made me 10 dollars. Thanks alot man. Woo hoo.

I know one FYE store that had this promo going on for about a month but I never posted it because I asked two other FYE stores and they no idea what I was talking about. I had no idea about the free $5 gift card if you bought a $30 one though.

Thanks.

I tried to do this at the Wherehouse a few weeks ago, but they wouldn't let me purchase a gift card using store credit.

My FYE says no go on using store credit to buy gift cards. I think it's because CA law would allow you to swap them for cash?

I wonder if the XBox version of Pro Race Driver is still being accepted for $30 in trade credit. . . If this still is the case, I'm going to take the game in and get the gift card (adding up to $35 in trade credit) and snag Burnout 3.

Anyone know if Pro Race Driver is still worth $30 there?

Ok, if it's $27, what other cheap game could I pick up at EB or Gamestop for similar trade credit.

$27 + $27 + $5 giftcard bonus= $57

More than enough to obtain Burnout 3.
I asked but they would not exchange store credit for a giftcard at my FYE.

There is another FYE nearby . . . I picked up a giftcard and took it to the register. I said I wanted to put $30 on it and after the clerk rung it up (with the free $5 one) I coolly handed her the $25.50 credit slip I had and she scanned it and asked for $4.50. I paid and didn't say anything else.

Cool! $5 extra on my credit!

i saw this a month ago too. i don't know why they would let you add it to game credit, but that's cool, could be ymmv, as some clerks might say that's if you buy a giftcard.
