I know this has already been posted, but I have the info too along with the rest of the ad. It is mix and match on all PS2, XB, and GC games(NO GBA are part of the sale...I didn't leave them out). This year they are being strict about everything(similar to last years, but they really want stores to follow it now). For TRU employees, the store director should know of the policy but I think it will be in an e-mail or map later. It's not valid on previous purchases, its up to store discretion to limit quantities(no buying 3 of the same title), and if you return a game you can only exchange it for a game that came out before 10/30 or get $33 credit towards another game. Edit - YMMV on all those rules. I'm sure some stores will be nice about exchanging.

TRU is also changing their price match policy. Now you only have 14 days after you buy something to come back to the store with another store's ad and get the price difference. And they are not matching any ads at all for the Thursday-Sunday of Thanksgiving.

Here's the rest of the 10/24 ad:
XB Action Replay $19.99(reg $29.99)
XB Starter Kit $19.99(reg. $29.99)
XB Pro Gamers Bundle $29.99(reg. $59.99)
XB Cyberpad 2 $9.99(reg. $19.99)
PS2 mini wireless controller $29.99(reg. $39.99)
PS2 Starter kit $19.99(reg. $29.99)
GBA SP Ultimate Pack $39.99(Reg. $49.99)
GC G force controller black, orange, purple, or indigo $9.99(reg. $14.99)
And of course the Buy 2 get 1 free deal(which is probably the only one most people will use)

Edit - It is online, too, but it says something like see online for online offer. I know last year it was slightly different online. I think it only let you get 3 $40 games or 3 $50 games and you couldn't mix and match $40 and $50 titles, and it wasn't valid on all titles, only a selection of titles.

If you return an item with a gift receipt, each game will show up as $33 with the gift receipt. Now you may get lucky and they may let you do an even exchange for another game, but they are supposed to either tell you that you only get $33 back since the person bought it as part of a sale(if you want store credit), or they may allow you to trade it for a game that was already released before the sale ended(there's no way you'd get $50 credit back, the best they'd do is let you get another $50 game that came out before 10/30).

Eligible games list now added (ripped from SD and reformatted)
Not sure if this is just for online or what, but here it is:
Right click here and select "Save target as".

I doubt returning games after the sale will be different from the past years, unless you're outright trying to scam them. In the past, they had absolutely NO internal control. They'd just put the credit on a giftcard and send you to electronics, so technically you could get the 3rd game completely free if you were inclined to do so. I imagine this time around they'll be stricter and make sure the deal isn't being abused by those people, but I still think it will be easy to exchange games for others you want after the sale, which is what I've done for the last 3 years with no problems.

Just tell them the truth. Either say they didn't have what you wanted in stock so you decided to wait for them to get the right game in, or just tell them you changed your mind and want a different game. Only a real asshole employee is going to waste time checking release dates and try to tell you what games you can and can't exchange for.
So it is OKAY to mix and match say like $50 + $10 + $10 games?
Yeah, of course but it's stupid, just buy thre 10 buck games and buy the fifty another day.
So it is OKAY to mix and match say like $50 + $10 + $10 games?
The lowest price game is the one you would get free. So if you are thinking "OMFG Tw0 T3N D0LlAR Gam3$ == F1fTy D0LlAR 1 Fr33" that would be a no go.
im glad TRU is not allowing people to return games. Many people said they are going to buy junk games and then return them for halo 2 and other games that are coming out in NOV.
You are glad? Who are you to judge the purchasing decisions of other people? As if somehow they are cheating TRU out of money?

Your first post, and might I say, what a smart post it was.

could buy say nhl 2005 and madden 2005 along with gta:sa and then send the rebate in to ea and get nba live 2005 free too...

4 games for the price of 2 :)

Unless of course, in fine print, it says the EA deal can't be used in conjunction with other deals. Someone get on the horn to EA.

yeah but u cant complain bout getting 4 games for half price, 25 a pop, then you could even trade on in and get another game u were looking for

Will a XBox Live starter kit qualify for one of the 2 purchases? I'd hope so, considering it's a hefty $70. Anyone know for sure?

I'd rather that people bought junk games and returned them later. That leaves the good recent releases for those of us who just want to get in on the deal. Half the people in this thread (and on other forums) have said they want to get Paper Mario and Donkey Konga... you know both of those games will be sold out by noon Sunday. If people want to get garbage instead, and then trade it back later for GTA or Halo 2 or whatever, then let em.

That's a good point. A 100 bucks spent is a 100 bucks profit for TRU, no matter what is purchased. Not to mention I don't think the stores are even properly stocked for this sale. A lot of stuff is going to be already sold out before it even starts. I still think gift receipts will probably still work if the original receipt has your purchase of 2 $50 games and the third one is $0.

Does TRU carry Lightgun games?

I'm hoping on getting Crisis Zone and GTA:SA next week, but can't if TRU won't have Crisis Zone.

For sure TU doesnot care lightgun game bundle with the gun since it is their policy. I am not sure about the game itself since I never see any light game game in TRU.

So this is absolutely confirmed for this coming week right? My local Fry's has Paper Mario 2 on sale for $38.99 till Tuesday and it's uber-tempting to pick it up. I'd just hate to miss out on getting it an a good price like that and then this sale ends up not going down.

I'm sure after 1.5 months of hype it's got to happen, it'd just suck to have the rug pulled out from under us at the last minute :?

Not to nitpick but 100 bucks spend is NOT a 100 bucks profit for TRU. ITs 100-COGS (cost of goods sold for all you non buisness majors)

There are some pretty piss-poor NEW games out for XBOX though in my opinion for this sale.

Outrun 2 $39.99 could be decent....demo was ok (at least it's LIVE)
Outlaw Golf 2 $19.99 (LIVE...budget game...could be good, different from Links and TW2005 at least)
Bicycle Casino $29.99 (not sure of the LIVE ability...could be good to talk some smack playing Texas Hold'Em)
FIFA 2005 (I want this...still waiting though)

There are really no GREAT games coming out for XBOX. I think I may pass on this deal. I would get in on it if there were two $20 games....but probably not.

Not to nitpick, but you're obviously not a business major either. It's $100 revenue to TRU, not cost of goods sold. The cost of goods sold is whatever TRU paid for the 3 games. You'd know this if you had even completed the most basic introductory accounting course.

Where do you go to school anyway? ITT Tech?

Not to nitpick, but you are obviously not a math major, as 100-COGS indicates $100 minus cost of goods sold.

Let say a bunch of people go a bought Catwoman for like 39.99 and the game is sold out at TRU so they make another order of Catwoman and the price drop to 19.99. Now that bunch of people return Catwoman to get another game. So TRU now have an overstock of Catwoman that won't sale. So what do they do? Keep those in inventory or put them on sale something like 50 percent off?

Thanks for the impromptu business class guys.

Still thinking about what to get aside from Paper Mario 2. So many games to choose from.

Did you fail out of ITT before you got a chance to take remedial math? Numerical operators are supposed to have a space before and a space after them. You wrote "100 dash cost of goods sold." Try again kid!

Maybe you can find a new school at www.cheapassdegrees.com.

1) I did not even attend ITT, way too expensive.
2) I am not the original poster.
3) I am not a "kid".
4) After introductory math, the space is optional, as a "space" is not a mathematical operator. You should find that out soon. Spaces can add clarity between numbers and operators, but they are not necessary. Spaces are only necessary to separate numbers and to separate variables.

Please stop... anyways, I'm hoping Mario Paper 2 and DK Konga or MK are still there by the time San Andreas comes out cause that would be a good combination...

Uh not to be an instigator, but spaces arent used to add clarity between numbers and operators. Commas are used to add clarity to numbers, and parenthesis to operators and variables. Spaces are used for separation.

Does anyone know anydeals for GC or PS2 accesories, that week?
Also, can PS1 games be included in the B2G1F (I didn't see it mentioned)?

Thanks

anyone at TRU know if they are going to drop the price on Maximo, Onimusha 3, and the other CAPCOM games that saw a price drop last week?
Onimusha 3 now is $39.99 (Walmart price $39.86)
BB EB and Target all dropped the prices on the CAPCOM titles already

You misunderstood. I was stating that spaces clarify the separation of two numbers, not make one number clearer. Between numbers, not inside a number.

So could I go in TRU on the 24th, pay for the three games I want (Tiger Woods, DOA Ulitmate and GTA San Andreas) for the sale price and just pick up DOA and GTA when they get them in on the 27th.

I'm want to get Paper Mario, Donkey Konga, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Should I wait until the 27th to go? Could I buy some other random game on the 24th and then exchange it for GTA on the 27th? I don't want PM and DK to be sold out because I waited until the 27th.

shoudln't they be getting GTA SA in on the 26th? i figured they'd have it in this weekend and put it out on the 26th.

IMO i think there are some great games coming out that someone could pick up on "the box"for this sale...

 • Dead or Alive Ultimate
 • Otogi 2: Immortal Warriors
 • The Bard's Tale

as well as these recently released games...

 • Fable
 • Kingdom Under Fire

Its a shame however that some of the huge titles are being released after the sale including...

 • HALO 2
 • Prince of Persia: WW
 • Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II
 • MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf

I think it remains unknown whether the deal will work with preorders on the online store.

Actually, the price changes are sent the Saturday before the drop. This Thursday there are quite a few price drops going through. I think they were Maximo is now $19.95, Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow all systems is $29.95, Onimusha 3 is $29.95(I think), and there were a couple more universal ones.

I will probably end up going to the Raleigh TRU on sunday (going to check stock of what you guys have this week though as I know Cary has a lot of the games I want)

Expect to see a cornfed white kid in a CAG shirt if you are working
