I know this has already been posted, but I have the info too along with the rest of the ad. It is mix and match on all PS2, XB, and GC games(NO GBA are part of the sale...I didn't leave them out). This year they are being strict about everything(similar to last years, but they really want stores to follow it now). For TRU employees, the store director should know of the policy but I think it will be in an e-mail or map later. It's not valid on previous purchases, its up to store discretion to limit quantities(no buying 3 of the same title), and if you return a game you can only exchange it for a game that came out before 10/30 or get $33 credit towards another game. Edit - YMMV on all those rules. I'm sure some stores will be nice about exchanging.

TRU is also changing their price match policy. Now you only have 14 days after you buy something to come back to the store with another store's ad and get the price difference. And they are not matching any ads at all for the Thursday-Sunday of Thanksgiving.

Here's the rest of the 10/24 ad:
XB Action Replay $19.99(reg $29.99)
XB Starter Kit $19.99(reg. $29.99)
XB Pro Gamers Bundle $29.99(reg. $59.99)
XB Cyberpad 2 $9.99(reg. $19.99)
PS2 mini wireless controller $29.99(reg. $39.99)
PS2 Starter kit $19.99(reg. $29.99)
GBA SP Ultimate Pack $39.99(Reg. $49.99)
GC G force controller black, orange, purple, or indigo $9.99(reg. $14.99)
And of course the Buy 2 get 1 free deal(which is probably the only one most people will use)

Edit - It is online, too, but it says something like see online for online offer. I know last year it was slightly different online. I think it only let you get 3 $40 games or 3 $50 games and you couldn't mix and match $40 and $50 titles, and it wasn't valid on all titles, only a selection of titles.

If you return an item with a gift receipt, each game will show up as $33 with the gift receipt. Now you may get lucky and they may let you do an even exchange for another game, but they are supposed to either tell you that you only get $33 back since the person bought it as part of a sale(if you want store credit), or they may allow you to trade it for a game that was already released before the sale ended(there's no way you'd get $50 credit back, the best they'd do is let you get another $50 game that came out before 10/30).

Eligible games list now added (ripped from SD and reformatted)
Not sure if this is just for online or what, but here it is:
Right click here and select "Save target as".
I rather do buy 2 get 1 free in store instead online (SHIPPING & TAXES is kill the deal)
Online is a lot safer, especially now that pretty much everything is in stock. I'd rather order now than wait until Sunday and find out my TRUs are out of what I want.

Why wouldn't you have taxes instore?

Beat me to it.

I just got back from my local TRU, and I found out that they were already running the buy 2 get 1 deal. Of course, this is a big YMMV.

It seems they pulled the codes. I tried the $20 ones for PS2 and XBX and the $50 one for PS2. The 2 $20 ones said they expired. The $50 one said it wasn't recognized.

Cool...
There's no tax when you buy stuff in Delaware
So? If they don't charge you tax in store, they don't charge you tax online. The whole online tax has to do with
a) does the store have any locations (nexus) in your state
and
b) if it does, how much does your state charge for tax

Yup, I guess we have to play the waiting game.
The waiting game sucks...let's play Hungry Hungry Hippoes.

I don't know if this has been posted, but I just found it on some other board:

Not that we really need proof, but whatever...
When will they get GTA: SA? Anyone know?
That is my big question also, I am planning to buy an all GC set of games, and a mix set of PS2 and Xbox games (GTA being the only PS2 game). I may get the GC set online, but the GTA and Xbox might have to wait until... thursday maybe? wwhen they get GTA in store... we'll see...

Will a XBox Live starter kit qualify for one of the 2 purchases? I'd hope so, considering it's a hefty $70. Anyone know for sure?
Accessories can't be combined with games. :(
Do accessories work at all? I was thinking about buying 2 more donkey konga bongos and I'll probably pick up a third accessory if that's possible.

I checked online and the kongas are price at 29.88. I guess they did that so the code would not work for them. Maybe I will try in store.

Not to question your credibulity and your one post but can you give us a reciept scan? BTW, welcome to CAGland

3 bongo's for two would be nice (especially since the game allows up to 4 players) but I'd be surprised if this worked.

anyone have an ad? Maybe it would say the exclusions. I'll probably call them when I have time (I'm writing a paper while on CAG).

I'll probably also try it in-store when the sale starts. Worth a shot.

Dam Straight! Donkey Konga, Paper Mario 2 and Tales of Symphonia or Pikmin 2 here I come! Hot dam! This is the sale I was waiting on.

Damn it all to wherever! {Because hell is too good for a true Webmaster this cruel ;-)

My cable Internet went out for a couple of hours, and when it came back, the codes stopped working :whistle2:(

12 games straight down the drain because I have no transportation for the sale next week :whistle2:(

sorry about the huge size...
and don't worry about the Visa rewards stuff. Those are gift certificates I earn for using a TRU credit card. It comes in handy for sales like these.

The sale starting early here is most likely due to bad management at the TRU. Regardless of the cause, whoever is in the area can go shopping a few days early.
The codes will definitely be back later.
Remember, the sale doesn't officially start until Sunday.
Great to hear they haven't changed their mind about having online :)

Of course, the total is now up to 15 games from 12 -- this extra time may kill my wallet ;-)

Your geocities site already wasted all its bandwidth, may wanna host that pic somewhere else. I guess if it is true, your TRU just has no clue what they're doing. I'm guessing they manually had to enter the free games in the system as the promotion isn't active yet.

Don't worry about GTA:SA as TRU should be getting in tons of those. You can still preorder to guarantee your copy. But when Vice City came out we sold out within 2 days(they did the deal that week back then too), but we got in about 80 vice city plus extras for preorders. Then the day before the sale ended we got more Vice City in, so get GTA:SA if you can, but if you go on the release day I'd expect you'll definitely get it.

Also, Donkey Konga should ring up as part of the deal. Last year, Music Mixer wouldn't ring up since it is considered an accessory, but Donkey Konga is considered a game even though it comes with the drums.

So the donkey konga drums by themselve wont work?
If this works on pre-orders, my wallet is in trouble...
If it doesn't work on preorders, my whole order is screwed. Only every third game I'm ordering is currently released, and none of the current released stuff is in the same price range.

Of course, I can't think of why wouldn't work with preorders as long as they're not restricting to specific games like they did last year online. The first year they ran this promotion online I think my entire order was preorders and it turned out fine :)

please do not tell me pre-orders are included. The only 50 dollar game I wanted this year is MGS 3, but if pre-orders are included MP2 and Ratchet and Clank 3 are going to be purchased as well.

must go and find a job. These deals are killing my bank account

tubtub,

Does TRU get their deliveries on Tues? If so, will they already have the week's new releases Tue. morning or would it be better to go closer towards the evening?

I dont know if this has been said or not, but What is the deal IN STORES? Online we all now know is per console and per price only. In store can you mix and match all 3 consoles? Can you mix and match and price?

thx

I know people don't want to go through 13 pages of posts, but all that info is in the first post, which I'd think people should at least read :p (The answer is yes, you can mix & match.)

BTW, maybe some should mention "online" in the title? The recent secondary posts were just talking about the online part, so maybe they thought this thread just talked about B&M...

So the donkey konga drums by themselve wont work?
Most likely they will not work. The drums by themselves are in the system as an accessory. Unless there's a fluke where they accidentally get placed as part of the sale, they won't ring up as part of it.

TRU gets their video game deliveries every day(Monday-Friday). GTA:SA is not shipping early, so it will be in stores whenever the delivery people get there(usually they are there by 1 o'clock but varies based on the store). TRU's presell tickets most likely say GTA will be in stock 10/28, but the ship date is 10/26 and it is overnighted, so stores should get them sometime on 10/27. TRU just likes to give it an extra day on the presell tickets just in case the game doesn't make it to the stores until that day. I'd say if you go in the afternoon you should be safe, but call just to make sure they did come in.

Earlier when the codes are working, I tried preordering Baten Kaitos with Donkey Konga and Paper Mario, but the code never went through. Maybe I did something wrong, but I still think preorders don't work.

Also, I saw a page on www.dealrush.com that linked to all the games that are part of sale online, that may have something to do with it.

That deal rush link looks like the Bullshit they pulled last year with the limited choices limited to mostly garbage games :whistle2:(

Very disappointing :whistle2:(

It's Ace Combat 5, and yes you can, but I'd just wait until the release date.

Wow, i may hafta run into my local tru and pick up GTA:SA, Paper Mario 2 and Fable for $100 as those titles arent likely to get cheaper than that for a while.

Thanks for the list.....looks like a lot of people will be disappointed (no GTA:SA)

Also, X-Men Legends is for every system but not on sale for XBOX....hmmmm, wonder if there are flaws in the document.

not a TRU close to me and I didn't see anything that jumped out at me and said "BUY ME" in the dealrush list :(

I guess I shouldn't be buying much new anyway with the titles I want, Donkey Konga and Paper Mario2, on my Christmas list and not on sale..
