Buying a PS3 in Japan

Anyone have any advice for someone looking to buy a PS3 in Japan? I'd like a 60GB one because I need it to have wifi and I'd like to have BC as well. Otherwise a new one is okay. I looked at some used ones but they don't seem to be much cheaper than a new one and 60GBs on amazon are $200+. How often do stores put PS3s on sale and are they discounted enough to matter? Will be there a price drop with PS4 around the corner?

If you absolutely must have a 60gb, Yahoo Auctions is probably your best bet. I certainly wouldn't buy a used console unless I absolutely had to, though -- especially not a 60gb PS3 which could be 7 y/o by now.

If you're OK with a newer model, you might just wanna hold off for a potential New Year's sale at the major electronics retailers.

Yeah the age of the console has me worried. What kind of new years sales can I expect? Something like 5000 yen off or some bundle?
