Buying used xbox 360

Okay, so my xbox 360 just went wack and the games don't play anymore. So I'm looking to get a new 360 and I see them on craigslist for pretty good prices. I'm wondering what are the ways to tell if it still works well. I don't know where the warranty sticker is and I'm not sure how to tell whether it's a newer model or an older one. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

thats one the other is infront of the dvd drive

the ring of death with error code 0020 and 0102 are repairable. I know if its 0021 dont buy it cuz it might be unrepairable. Also make sure that the slots in the back havent been tampered with, that is another way to tell if the console has been tampered with.
