CA Bullet Train approved

i voted yes. even though its going to cost billions and billions more and i wont be able to right id until im damn near 50.

Lucky bastards. I think a bullet train or at least some sort of green, high-speed train that starts in Cheyenne (Wyoming) and has stops in Fort Collins, Centerra, Longmont, Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo then down into New Mexico would be a huge boost to Colorado's economy. People would go to Denver more often, there'd be fewer commuter cars on I-25, and it would be cheaper for people to ride a train than drive the 120-mile round trip commute from Fort Collins to Denver.

Is there a chance the track could bend?
Not on your life, my Hindu friend!
What about us brain-dead slobs?
You'll be given cushy jobs!
Were you sent here by the devil?
No good sir, I'm on the level!
The ring came off my pudding can!
Take this pen-knife, my good man!
I swear, it's Springfield's only choice!
Throw up your hands and raise your voice!
Monorail!

I was happy to see it pass for friends that live in SoCal.

Public transportation in Calfornia--particularly the LA area, is terrible.

It seemed ok in the San Francisco area the one time I was there and used with, with the commuter trains and BART.

I've been on the bullet train in Japan. It's fucking awesome. Glad this passed. They really need this shit all over the country, it'd really help reduce dependency on cars.

Hope CA has better luck!

It's getting way better, though. I commute on the train that runs into Union Station every day, and jump on the light rail to get to work.

It's not as extensive as it should be, but WAY better than it was 10 years ago.

California voted in favor of the now $20B high-speed train, yet voted down every other green-energy initiative on the ballot. Keep in mind that LA is STILL building a subway downtown that began in the '60s.

For a state with no money, we sure do want to spend it.

I had mix feelings about the rail. Yeah we don't have any money but we really need to upgrade and fix our infrastructure. There are many bridges in the US that need repairs.

The train is a good thing if people ride it though...

Damn, took long enough for this to get to the states. Too bad I'll be old as hell (considering how long something like this takes here in the US) before most of the country has it.

Bullet trains and BART are completely different. BART is comparable to Metro North in NYC but not even close in speed to those Japanese bullets.

I wasn't comparing.

I was just saying the LA subway sucks and doesn't go very far out into the suburbs, and there's not commuter train their (too my knowledge from friends who live and work in the area).

Where as I thought the commuter trains and BART were pretty good when I visited San Francisico--stayed with a friend in Sunnyvalue and took the commuter train to a Bart station then used that to get around the city.

The bullet train is seperate all together but good to see Calfornia getting better public transit for commuters.

This is exactly what it is! I can't believe all the people who were actually braindead enough to vote for this.

People, we are broke! But WOW! a fast and reliable train... why don't we borrow 20 billion for something that will likely never get built!

I can't believe how stupid people in this state are!

Now the Governator wants a 1.5% increase in the sales tax! That's on top of the 0.5% raised in LA county by measure R! So LA residents may get to pay 10.75% sales tax soon... Goodbye Newegg; it's time to purchase everything from out of state!

...and Measure R is totally retarted... let's waste money on a subway/light rail that may never be built and only illegals will use!
