Cable Modem Deals?

I'm looking for one as well....

my Cox cable guy said they sell an atlantic something-er-other and it's about 60 bucks with 1 year warrenty

any good, high-quality modems out there anyone?

I've never understood the reason to buy a modem since when you have Cable internet service the give you the modem. Can you get a discounted rate if you bring use your own? I've got roadrunner through brighthouse.

You've never understood because you are making the gross assumption that all cable providers give the cable modem free. Many like Comcast charge monthly rental fees of the cable modem.
