More Tekken 6 Machines In America!

May 20, 2008

Thanks to the information provided on the Tekken Zaibatsu forums, word has it that a handful of TILT arcades have imported Tekken 6 from distributors in Asia! Houston, TX now has two Tekken 6 machines and Rhode Island gets one too! Here are the details for each machine:

The Galleria TILT
5015 Westheimer Road
Houston, TX 77081
$1.50 per game

Warick Mall TILT
400 Bald Hill Road
Warick, RI 02886
No info on pricing yet

Where will Tekken 6 show up next?

I want to play Tekken 6 so bad. At least I have T5DR to play. :) Plus, a buck fifty a game is fucking insane.

And I have a feeling that the Tekken movie will suck. . . Call it a hunch, or base it on the track record of video game based movies.

Well at least they're mostly getting martial artists, and not just bum actors! I want to see how miguel is done in the movie, because if they mess him up I will hate it forever!

super low chance of him being the movie >_
OH MY GOD!

According to the wiki, Tatsunoko Production worked on EVANGELION!!

CAPCOM vs. EVA!?! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!
That would be off tha fuckin' chain. Though I coulda sworn that EVA was entirely Gainax's. But hey, if I can face off as EVA Unit 01 agianst Strider, I can't think of a better game.

KARAS had some cool character designs too.

Fighting games = officially in a better situation than a year ago.
wait...what? AMAZING! Please Capcom, bring that stateside? Please? Maybe I'll finally break down and start importing...sigh
The game'd most likely be on the PS3, though, so importing really couldn't be any easier... just throw that shit in and play it.

Though I wonder how likely it is that this will hit the US... I mean, wouldn't there be some insane licensing issues, since most of Tatsunoku's animes are licensed by different studios in the US? I dunno.

Thank God for Japan where intellectual property doesn't mean shit.

Also, I love the cover art for KOF 98 Ultimate Bout:

Is there anything classier than wearing a suit and drinking red wine?

NO

I don't know what a Tatsunoko is, but I'm happy to see it is fighting the capcom.

Damn I'm stoked for that game, even though I only really know Gatchaman (and that's only because of the comic). Either way, if it plays good that's all I care about. Can't wait.

Ah, I keep forgetting PS3s aren't region locked. SCORE! I'll get even more use out of the MGS LE system I ordered!

How expensive are import only games on PS3 generally?

Also, does it play Japanese PS2 games (please please please, I need me some Fist of the North Star)

Sadly, the MGS LE (Gunmetal) PS3 is a 40GB unit and only has BC with PS1 games.

Import PS3 Games are usually around $65-$70 USD after conversion.

Do you think someone should go for KoF XI if they're pretty casual about SNK fighters? Or would it be more worthwhile to just wait for XII?

I'd say get KOF XI, because I've seen it for $10 at Best Buy. Totally worth it, especially for that price.

And I'm excited for Tatsunoko vs Capcom. But I'd be more excited if it was He-Man and Thundercats Vs. Capcom. . .

Now the real question, will they update the sprites?

Doh! Oh well, Google tells me even if it was BC compatible, BC is region locked, and it's apparently only PS3 games that are not.

What's the best way to play import games? I have no problem modding, but if there is an easier/cheaper way, I'd be in. I've put off HNK for too long, and there's prolly no chance in hell of a domestic release.

In regards to the new VS game:
Now, my big question is, is this a VS title like the old ones (MVC2 being the most recent of that style) or like the newer ones (ala CVS2). I much prefer the MVC2 style, and that screen Jekki posted give me hope for that. Why oh why did they have to cancel Capcom Vs Sammy...

Initial D Extreme Stage is like $75 though as are a couple other things. Sure, there's the Asian version of Initial D for like... 5-10 less, but I demand racial purity in gaming!

Errr... But a fighter should probably be like 65.

My choice since 2003 has been a Japanese PS2. It's more expensive than modding but less of a headache and at the time there were tons of cool color choices. My fat, Japanese PS2 is metallic blue.

For a while, I disk swapped, but that's a pain in the ass. Now, I use
the dreaded HDLoader
because it's so much easier. There are a few games it doesn't work with though, so I still had to do some swapping.

Like Halo05 says, the easiest way is a Japanese PS2. I wish the PS3 was region free for PS2 games. . .

I chose the Jpn PS2 route as well. I waited for a big PA 20% sale to lighten the damage, though. Mine's is ceramic white.

Battle Fantasia is pretty cool. Has some familar SF-esque moves and super presentation. I will pick it up when it comes stateside. I forget, did MM say that Blaz Blue was getting the NA localization treatment or will I have to import that one?

I'm thinking about grabbing a new PS2, myself... just because it doesn't look like the imports (especially Beatmania) will be leaving the system anytime soon. Though I'd really like to get a modded PS2...
Faster load times = SWIZZZZZZZLE
Hell yeah. I was playing GGXX AC on my PS3 and I was mashing start during the vs. screen because I'm used to the instant loading.
Modded PS2 is the way to go, either that or one with an HD Loader. Faster load times = SWIZZZZZZZLE
Yep.
Alright guys... get ready for the SF II Turbo HD REMIX beta REAL SOON.... not like this week soon, but soon after.
is it still just ryu and ken?

I'm bummed that the beta isn't going to be on PSN. I no longer have an arcade stick for my 360 and I didn't like the DOA4/VF5 ones enough to buy another. I'll just wait for the full release on PSN.
See, now that looks perfect for a 3D fighter. Why, then, does SF IV have to look so goddamned stupid?
QFT :whistle2:( That's one of the first thoughts that popped into my head when I saw the pics.
