CAG Gran Turismo 5 [CAG Race Night - Now Sundays at 6PM PST!]

If I have a connection at 9, I'll be there.

I have all the Volkswagens and I think all the Beetles are still stock.
 
I can try for 6, but 7 would be a bit better. My gf gets home at 545 and gets moody if I start playing games right away. It would be better for my weekend if I at least had dinner with her.
 
Throwing out a couple ideas:

1)Daihatsu Midgets on Rome or Madrid. PP I'm not sure I have one but it's pretty highly tuned to 427PP.

2)Old Timers race: Cars 1959 or older. Around 200 PP seems about right for the cars I have. Only the Schwimwagen is not close to that(mine is ~440PP) Track I'm not sure about, Trial Mountain?

3)Decade races: Determine a decade and only allow cars from that decade.

4) Lamborghini vs Ferrari: ~610PP. Daytona Road Course

I don't know if everyone has a car that will fit in this range though so it's just rough ideas
 
Buy the Atenza and Integra at the top of the Online Dealership. 490 and 488 PP respectively...curious to see how they compare in racing trim.

Ok... starting on suggestions for Sundays race... we think we've figured out one of them...

There are three touring cars in the Online Dealer right now. The Alteza is 17,500. The Integra is 37,500. The Atenza is 47,500. Buy one! They're cheap and they're awesome. :)

The limit for the race will be 490PP, so if you buy the Alteza, expect to cut it's horsepower a fair bit. The Integra and Atenza run almost the exact same times on Tsukuba, but they do handle slightly differently. Any touring car will do, so if you have something else already, feel free to use it. The restrictions are as follows: It must have "touring car" in the name. It must be 490PP or less. That's it! Whatever else you do is up to you. The track is still TBD.

I'd also like to run another 635PP without high boost... a real race. Doesn't have to be High Speed Ring, other suggestions welcome.

ps. Syn, the car you wanted from me is the Alteza at the top of the Online Dealer for 17,500. I'm not sending it to you, cough up the bucks and buy one. :p
 
I just checked and the 190E Im looking for goes for 1.5 mil so its not tradeable. Thanks for the offer though.

To add my two cents, I would like a decade race or an older car race. I was also thinking it might be cool to do a concept car only race and once people have them Id love to see a flock of X2010s rolling down the main drag on Route 7.

Edit: I just realized I misspoke on the X2010. You are actually given one at BSpec level 35, not A-Spec.

After I checked the OD I realized I have the car. I actually suggested everyone buy it a few weeks ago for our CAG night :p Fun little car!

Wait, you are? So if people keep using my B-Spec I'll get one? I'm currently level 34 thanks to everyone using my drivers...

According to GTP forums that is the case. So youre saying that the overall Bspec level, as opposed to the individual driver's level, bumps up when someone else runs your B-Spec driver? Do it take away from their XP gain or does it duplicate it?
 
Yes you do get one when you are level 35 B-Spec. And you get one for medaling the same across the board on the X2010 challenges.
 
Might be able to play in a couple of weeks. Too much happening right now & when I get a chance to sit in front of the system, it is usually for about 50-60 min max.

If you see me online and I ignore you, or SW Lego's is in, keep in mind my 4 year old knows how to utilize the system, but not how to change profiles (yet).

Let's put it this way...I've personally run enough B-spec races on my own PS3 to get to level 4 or 5...the rest (I'm now level 34 in B-spec) has been done by other people using my drivers remotely.

I think the consensus last night was at least for a cart race and a 635PP race. I was talking to smthng and I suggested running Monza for the 635PP instead of High Speed Ring, so if anybody has any opinions on that, let them be known. Also, theres talk of a touring car race at 490PP, as in cars with touring in the name being eligible, with some good cheap examples being the 3 JPN touring cars at the top of the Online Used Market.

There is a recommended list that you can use cars from. There is a Zonda R, fast in the turns, but a bit slow on the straights (when compared to other 635pp cars).

Everything that we race, we always make sure that people will be able to have a car to use for that race.
 
Okay cool, sounds good. I really have no idea how this is going to turn out but sounds fun.
I really really wish GT5 have Porsche.. stupid EA..

They are called "RUF" in GT5. Gotta get luck and have the credits ready when they pop up in the Used Dealership.

I just recently loved cars. I actually didn't like cars when I bought GT5, but recently I got obsessed with them.

Before I die, I must at least own one of these in my life. A Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Porsche, Viper, Maserati or a Corvette.. But if things aren't doing so well. Maybe an Acura. Lol life.

My brother's boss owns an Architect firm and his boss has a Porsche and a Corvette

Since i downloaded the last patch and put my new hard drive in i lost my chrome paint chips, about of the quarter of the cars have no thumbnail image in my garage, and my game froze twice after seasonal events gold medal wins. I am doing b-spec enduros so if anyone wants free money pm me.

Depending on the track though fast in the turns is all you need. That's how I can beat you guys in the Citroen

Thumbnails can be regenerated fairly easily. Highlight the car in the garage list, hit the triangle and there's an option on the pop-up. They'll also automatically regenerate if you repaint them or add a carbon-fibre hood... the pop-up menu is cheaper. ;)

So, races for tonight look as follows;

Karts + Random kart track - 5 laps
Touring Cars, 490PP, Tsukuba - 5 laps (Car MUST have "Touring Car" in it's title. There are currently 3 cheap ones in the Online Dealership)
Recommended 1960 Corvette, Trial Mountain - 3 laps
635PP, Monza (no chicane) - 4 laps

I'm open to some suggestions for tracks :)
 
I vote Monza (no chicane) for the 635PP race.

I think the Vette race would be decent on Trial Mountain, but I don't remember how long that one is.
 
I might be a few minutes... was getting "Network Incompatibility" when connecting. Switched to cell phone, may have to reboot PS3.
 
Bear was having issues too. J-cart, you host?

EDIT: HOld up. Phase is in, waiting to see if smthng gets in too.

step2: from the main menu go to GT Mode
step3: you can go to community, select the person you are trying to join.
step4: from there, click the yellow icon next to the coffee cup and join.
 
Eh ^ I wish I read that earlier. My brother was using my computer and everything.
My internet is kinda funky today as well. Kept getting disconnected like every 15 min. Bleh AT&T - - bad time.
 
Great racing. The touring cars were fun to race with. Should be available for next week as well.

Just to throw it out there, anyone planning on picking up F1 2011?
