so im 20 years old. full time student with part time work. and nothing has given me the most bittersweet feeling other than CAG.

1) get paid -> check out CAG -> $$$ goes out
2) check out CAG next day -> more $$$ goes out
3) check out CAG next next day -> "uhhh shyt i gotta save up.. but i really want this!" -> buys item -> feel broke as hell -> feel guilty
4) item arrives -> big smile :D

repeat the cycle

so anyone else like this.. or do i need to get a better job? i buy buy buy but i hardly have any time to play any of the games... sigh
 
Yeah I was when I first joined CAG. I went from spending about $100-$120 a month in games to roughly $500 a month. Huge difference.

I'm back down to a much better area of about $60-$100 (since I'm working on cutting down backlog) but it was a rough few months until about November.
 
I know the feeling. Every week's ad listing is like crack for me. Lol. I have to see the new sales. I work part time at Gamestop for job #2, and i'll still trying to find a good deal on CoD: Black Ops.
 
For me it all started on the day leading up to Black Friday. Which is why I now have about 6 or 7 360 games waiting for me on Christmas...yes the wife won't let me open any of them...
 
I joined in '06 but haven't really paid much attention to this site since this year.

I spend more during the holidays anyway.
 
Yeah, I know the feeling too well. Just recently I decided to give one of my three xboxes away to my cousins who don't own one. They asked if I would give them some games and I agreed. After all was said and done, I realized I was giving them 30 games and yet, I still have three shelves full of games. :whistle2:# something is wrong with that pic so I started keeping better track of my spending and am only allowing myself a budget of 160 every month to spend on my hobbies. That'll include games, movies and action figures. :cool:
 
I started using CAG back in 2004, and the deals were much easier to find in those days, because most people simply didn't know about them. I remember the huge blow-out CC $5 sale, and picking up games from Sears for next to nothing. Those were the days. Now that deals are harder to come by, I find myself buying less games, and trying to delve into a portion of my backlog. I really should inventory all those old games and try to sell them, since chances are I'll never play them, and many are still sealed.

Seems rather pointless.
 
What shawne said. I'm pretty good at not biting into the new release deals, but I remember how my backlog started. The hollywood video sale of last summer when all used games 29.99 and under were $5. Long drives, but damn if it wasn't worth it in the end.
 
I had the same problem when I got here too, then when I started trading it got even worse. Games would come in get played for maybe 6 hours and be back out the door.

Mostly same here, though I had to get Fable 3 and Fallout Vegas from Amazon this year, those were pretty good deals and I know I'll get my value from those two.
