A widget that displayed the number of new PMs would be awesome. Something with the functionality of the drop down in the banner would be super sweet. I tried using the "Open in Dashboard" feature in Safari and selecting just the drop down portion, but it didn't work. It loads the entire banner/nav/login panel and doesn't allow log in.
I used the default RSS feed widget creator in Dashcode and that works just fine, but I'm more interested in something that will display if I have any new messages in my inbox or not.
Does anything like this exist? Or someone craftier than I need a new project?
