CAG League Sports: Madden 12 "JV League" - We Finished 3 Seasons! Thanks Everybody!!!
For some reason I thought everyones secondary teams were in the NFC, but the Cowboys must be DVO's main team.

So are we half NFC half AFC with secondaries teams in both? Or what?
Primaries are whoever someone wants. Their secondary should be in the opposite conference of their primary, though.

In a amazing game the cowboys fall short of victory against the Bucs
Dallas 31 Tampa 34
This game could have gone either way truely a great game that came down to the wire.

Romo went 8 for 14 with 172 yards 1TD and 1 Int that was late in the game. also Romo choked in the fourth on a pass to Witten that he over threw the game in front of him wide open on third and the cowboys had to punt the ball and the bucs scored the game winning field goal on that drive :(

Foster- 16 carries 225 yards 2 TDs
Witten 5 Rec for 96 yards 1 TD
Austin 1 Rec for 53 yards
Alan Ball 5 tackles 1 int for a TD

Freeman 19 for 29 for 396 yards 4 TDs 2 INTs
Winslow 7 Rec for 167 yards 2 TDs
Williams 5 Rec for 78 yards 2 TDs

Great game LV really enjoyed in alot was really fun hope we meet up again
seeing if someone could sub for the dolphins (blade3d) tonight, if not i'll just play him tomorrow.
If you can wait about an hour from now (930CST) I should be able to convince the wife to let me play?
If you can wait about an hour from now (930CST) I should be able to convince the wife to let me play?
yeah we can plan on getting on at 9:30 cst or 10:30 est here.

Bills vs Dolphins- Bills lagged on offense and whiffing a field goal and hitting the uprights on another. Left it 0-6 Dolphins in the second half. Eventually I was able to catch and getting a B button onside kick scoring a touchdown with 15 seconds to go bringing it to 13-15 with 16 seconds left in the game. Unfortunately Martin forgot he had a neck and didnt turn around for the ball....great first game though. I did enjoy the one handed Sam Linebacker interception

Remaining games:

Redskins vs Giants (silversnake5 seems to have next to no interest in the league. Expecting a sim here)
Titans vs Colts (supposedly scheduled)
Seahawks vs Bears (???)
Patriots vs Broncos (???)
Ravens vs Chargers (???)
Steelers vs 49ers (???)

Kind of a lot of games for 24 hours till the deadline. Let's get on it guys.

When Superstar returned my PM, we were having a lot of scheduling issues. This weekend was busy for me and I usually have classes at night, when most people are home from work, haha. I suggested getting a sub, but I haven't heard back. If a sub for New England is necessary, can someone play around 2:30 EST tomorrow afternoon?

The Titans Colts game is scheduled for tomorrow, and I haven't gotten a PM back from Matt Young yet about the Steelers 49ers game.

Sorry, it took a long time for my games to get scheduled.
TENvIND is at 4pEST
CHIvSEA is at 8pEST

------I think I scored and then ROMO threw the INT to close out the game actually.
I believe he underthrew it, but if he makes that throw we atleast go into OT, I was happy for the INT.

Great game and I think we play Oakland against my Chiefs next week so we should have another good one real soon.

Freeman is a beast, I might change over to the Bucs next season if they stay open.

Also props to Ultimate Matt X whose Browns crushed the Cardinals with some great defense.

Do you still need a sub today? I'm free right now.

I fuck ing hate madden sometimes! So many broken plays! You should not be able to throw to one person every other play, with the same routes. I may have zone, or even two people standing there next to him. It doesn't fuck ing matter. Dallas Clark will still jump 10 feet in the air and catch it. Or maybe he will just push off of one of them and make that catch, as seems to be his tendency.

Listen, this isn't a personal attack against G33, although I was annoyed he kept using the same broken Dallas Clark slant. And yes I made a lot of mistakes, and G33 deserved to win. I just hate how the game screws me time after time. Madden can be so broken.

Anyway Good game G33.
Titans - 7
Colts - 10

To be honest, I don't really throw slants, as good zone coverage gets picks on those. What I was throwing was a lot of drag routes. If I remember correctly, of my 28 pass attempts, I threw 3 HB angles, 2 HB screens, and 1 HB out to Joseph Addai (for 3 completions, 1 TFL completion, one out to Pierre Garcon, and a pick), 3 curls, 4 slants, and 2 drags to Reggie Wayne (for 6 completions, 2 incompletions, and a pick), 1 drag to Austin Collie (for 1 completion), 1 drag to Jacob Tamme (for 1 completion) and 7 drags, 2 slants, and 2 ins to Dallas Clark (for 9 completions and 2 incompletions). These would be the routes I ended up throwing to, not the plays I actually called. I'll admit, I do throw to a lot of drag routes. It's my primary checkdown route, and I audible it often to make sure I have a checkdown route that doesn't have 3 defenders sitting on it. When my primary target is covered, I immediately look to my TE and fire off a pass in his direction. I do this for two reasons: One, it takes me a couple of seconds to recognize whether a route is open and I take too many sacks when I play like an actual QB and check primary, then secondary, then tertiary, then checkdown, and two, I don't know the throwaway button (I always forget what it is. For anyone that has played me before, have you ever seen me throw away a pass?). Since I use it as both a normal route and a checkdown route, if I end up passing a lot, I end up throwing to a lot of drag routes to the TE. Is the drag route strong? Yes. Is the drag route unstoppable? No. I've played against people who knock down passes and pick off my drag routes with regularity. For those games, I pick a different play to be my checkdown route.

I could make the same complaints about your running an almost exclusive hurry-up offense in the 1st quarter and beyond, or your back-to-back screen plays, but I was fine with you doing that, as that's your personal style of playing. The hurry-up offense on every play was irritating, but I countered that by playing slow and methodically, keeping myself calm and playing to my own rhythm and not getting swept up by yours. As for the screens, well, that's a problem with my defensive playcalling. I would defend left and the pass would go to the right, I would defend both and the pass/run would be up the middle, I would defend the middle and it would be a screen. I don't know the Colts playbook at all, so I would call plays, note what worked and what didn't, and adapt my playcalling on the fly. I think I was getting better by the end.

Good game to you as well, and sorry if it felt like I was abusing Madden mechanics to win.

I sent him a PM about playing tonight. I'd rather not sub\sim since this game can be important for me.

I hate fighting about as stupid a thing as a video game. I apologize if anything I said was offensive, and I don't want to start a flame war. I have cooled down now and was just angry at the time. Also, I don't blame you for using a play that works very well, heck I would have done the same thing. I will find a way to adapt to super TEs.

I was writing something out, but realized half way through that it's worthless. I am not going to fight someone else for something as stupid as a madden game.

I said above good game. And no hard feelings, I wasn't trying to insult you.

Sorry to post again. I just wanted to let commish know that I am going to to drop the Bears. I have had a lot of things come up in my personal life and am not going to have as much free time as I used to. Not guaranteeing anything but I may be able to pick them up in the future as things level out, but for now I will just keep the Titans. Sorry.

Good approach man. We have all been there at one point or another (or multiple times) and we all feel it is cheap for a wide variety of reasons.

I notice I never feel this way when the breaks go my way, which it does happen despite it seeming like it doesn't sometimes. ;)

It is tough losing a very competitive game against a good opponent when the game was winnable. Someone has to win and someone has to lose though. Just like in the NFL, sometimes two teams both play well enough to win, but for some reason or another, one of them ends up losing.

I should be able to pick up at least one of these remaining two games.

I'm not mad, and I take no offense. If you took my post as me being angry or attempting to flame bait, I apologize, and imagine me reading my post with a neutral, nonchalant tone, and that's the attitude I took when writing that.

No matter how long I take proofreading and re-writing my own posts, I apparently always seem to say something that's taken as offensive. I'm not sure why, except that I have a feeling that it's the fact that I don't seem to care at all that people get mad about, or don't understand. No offense to anyone from what I just said, even though I expect to offend at least one person for some reason. I've long since accepted the fact that I can never win.

Thanks for encouragement man!
Just to be clear I already have this weeks scheduled, an will play it tonight.

Also, G33 I was not offended by your post. I just wanted to make sure what I was saying was not being misunderstood as hate.

Edit: damailman, we scheduled our game for 8pEST. I have been sitting here for 30 minutes and have not heard a thing from you. If you aren't going to be able to make it please let me know.

silversnake whats the deal? im trying to play!! I have contacted people every week with pm's, and multiple times there has been no response....

Bears - 23
Seahawks - 7

Good game damailman. It was obvious this was just one of those games where everything went wrong for you. The Bears offense came to play. With Forte leading their team and making another go at player of the week with 174yds rushing with one TD and 98yds receiving with one TD.

As I said, great game damailman. I am sure if you would have been able to get your offense going this would have been a much closer game.

It's been posted numerous times that silversnake has had trouble posting on CAG and that the best way to reach him is through XBL messages. That said, he also doesn't seem terribly motivated to play his games. He was booted from the league last week so a sub could easily take his place. You should have asked for a sub by now.

hey commish you can put down 9a-10a EST and 6 EST to 11 EST monday- friday, and all day sunday as possible times to start a game. Thanks.
well that being said does anybody want to sub for the chargers?
I can do it if you can wait about 15 minutes. I'd also have to promote you to commish so I can switch to the Chargers. So, you'd just need to promote me back after the game is over and I switch back to New Orleans.

Madden being Madden, and widow feels the need to showboat into the endzone on a lucky fumble. Yep, this is who EA makes their game for. I guess I should have flipped into the endzone like a cocksucker when I broke that 80 yard TD run on the first play of the game. Sorry, not worth wasting any more of my time on. Enjoy the win. Guess that's what I get for doing you a favor.

Sorry about the flip, Ray Lewis got a little excited! It was a good game besides the point, and you did gash me quite a few times on run/pass plays.....

It's cool. Some people just have a natural tendency to be dickbags. It's been discussed thoroughly.

I missed all the prior talks, didn't know celebration wasn't allowed and i did it once, i didn't see it listed in the basic rules when i joined the league, i can assure you i will never showboat in any form again.

It doesn't bother some people....and some even claim that it's "instinctual" (even though you have to physically move your thumb to the X button to do it), but to me it comes off as disrespectful and rubbing it in. It is literally showboating and it's not like you get extra points for doing it. The only purpose it serves is to piss your opponent off. There are just things in Madden that can be defined as "acting like a jackass". If we don't draw the line there, should we say it's ok for people to run along the goalline like dipshits letting you chase them before they score too? It's the kind of crap you see in online ranked, and I don't like it for a community league.

All I would say in relation to it is think about the sequence of events that led to you winning the game. I had great field position wiped off the board due to a holding call. I had a few easy INTs dropped. And then up 10 points and deep in your territory at the end of the 3rd, that fumble occurs...with nobody around it, allowing Lewis to not only force it, but pick it up and run it like 80 yards for a game changing TD.

Had I scored there, it basically would have been game over. Do you not feel at all fortunate to catch a break like that? You can't just be grateful, you've gotta showboat about it too? Just explaining it so you know where my thought process is coming from. As I've said, I largely don't give a shit about this game anymore. But I'm not going to waste my time being disrespected either...especially when I could have just let the game be simmed. Don't get me wrong, I'm not mad about it. It was a sub game, and the outcome doesn't make a difference to me. I just don't want anybody showing up their opponents and making them want to quit. Play hard, get the win, and be gracious about it.

Understood, their were some ridiculous circumstances that happened in that game, the prayer you threw up before half expired to get in field goal range after a 8o yard td drive, and the many balls that hit our defense mans hands.

Isn't quitting kind of a dickbag move as well? Especially when Widow didn't even know about the no-celebration rule? It isn't in the OP, and we can't expect everyone to know every nuance of our rule set ...
